The Best MLB Props Today

Cleveland Guardians Moneyline

(-130, DraftKings)

Most of the talking heads around MLB locked in the Minnesota Twins as their pick to win the AL Central, and the Cleveland Guardians took it personally. The Guardians enter on a nine-game winning streak and have outscored their opponents 54-29 over that span. Thanks to wins in 12 of their last 13 games, the Guardians rank third in baseball with 36 wins.

Cleveland is fresh off a three-game sweep in Anaheim and will wrap up its six-game road trip with a three-game series in Colorado that begins with Austin Gomber on the mound. The Rockies’ pitcher checks in with a 2.76 ERA but has a 4.19 xFIP. Gomber only has a 6.29 K/9 and 17% K rate, so we’ll likely see his 88% strand rate decline a touch over time. His 38% fly-ball rate has led to nine homers (five at home), but a couple of them have been solo shots.

When looking at teams who hit lefties well, the Guardians check boxes. Cleveland just so happens to rank second in home runs (20), ISO (.197), SLG (.456) and wOBA (.343) against left-handed pitchers and is first in runs scored with 93. Jose Ramirez, Josh Naylor and David Fry all rank inside the top 10 in home runs against left-handed pitchers. Fry was the most added player in fantasy baseball in Yahoo leagues yesterday. He leads baseball with a .610 OBP, .842 SLG, .421 ISO, .580 wOBA and 286 wRC+ vs LHP. His 27.1% walk rate against southpaws is the second highest in baseball behind Aaron Judge (31.4%), and his .421 AVG ranks third.
