Dynasty fantasy baseball leagues are growing rapidly, as content creators and prospect rankers have helped popularize the format in the past few years. Dynasty leagues come in many shapes and sizes, but the general idea is that you keep the majority of your roster year over year, if not your entire roster. This differs from keeper leagues, where you only keep a certain number of players annually. Dynasty leagues reward depth and knowledge of the player pool.

There are many ways to play dynasty, whether you are a win-now team or looking to the future. Playing this format can help you understand what it’s like to be a real MLB general manager, following 40-man rosters, being aware of roster crunches and trading aging players for future value or vice versa. I have been playing dynasty baseball since 2017 and have learned some of the lessons below firsthand, so I wanted to impart them to our readers.
