Prellezo’s picks (7/10): Core plays and lineup construction for LoL

Share

We’re back again with our look at the day’s top League of Legends plays.

In Wednesday’s article, our top 4 stacks ended up winning, with two of the top 3 being the optimal stacks. We had a profitable night and now we move onto a new slate! In Esports, we have to have a short-term memory. So let’s move on to Friday’s overnight action. If you haven’t had a chance, please take a look at this Esports 101 article.

This piece takes a deep dive into what I do and lineup construction advice. Friday is a big day, and I’ll be running 10-15 lineups. When building fewer than 30-40 lineups, I build them all by hand. How do I do that? That’s addressed in the piece linked above.

My focus for this article will be around my favorite stacks and my current plan up to this point. Feel free to reach out with any questions, if you have them.

As I write this, I’ve built 13 teams, without starting lineups being announced, but this won’t affect the stacks I’m focusing on. I actually started building last night and confirmed this morning from my research that I love what I’m working with. My favorite stacks are as follows (I have listed them from favorite to least favorite):

  • Invictus Gaming (IG)
  • Gen.G (GENG)
  • Bilibili Gaming (BLG)
  • OMG
  • KT Rolser (KT)
  • SANDBOX Gaming (SB)
  • eStar (ES)
  • Team Dynamics (DYN)

IG: Speaking of short-term memory with LoL, we start with IG. They went from my bust of the night a few nights ago to my favorite stack. ES allows an astonishing amount of points to the MID laners, so I’m targeting Rookie at Captain in quite a few lineups. I’ll hedge one stack with ES, but I’m all over four-man stacks of IG today. ES is one of the fastest-paced and aggressive teams, and I ultimately see them feeding kills to IG all day tomorrow.

GENG: LCK’s Cinderella team, DYN, is finally being exposed and their run of good luck is coming to an end. After giving SB their most recent win, they look like a normal, bottom-barrel squad. GENG went from the best team in the LCK to a middle of the pack team, but they should make easy work of DYN tomorrow.

BLG and OMG: My hedge of the night will be BLG and OMG tonight. I think it could go either way, but it will like be a 2-1 finish. However, the key point I want to make is I will not be running more than two-man stacks with OMG. When OMG wins, they don’t put up a ton of points, so they won’t be the most optimal team in four-man stacks. Focus on icon, Curse, and cold from OMG only. As for BLG, I’ll be rocking a ton of two-and four-man stacks, as OMG is a team that can come out and feed kills when they are down early. They’ll either do that or they’ll come out and play a passive match. It’s a #hedgelife kind of day!

Below is an example of my builds. Please note that there are seven spots to fill your lineup. I leave the TEAM spot out of the stacks on purpose. Use one of the stacks you’re using in your TEAM spot or just use a heavy favorite. These are some of my favorites:

  • IG — BLG : 4-2 stack
  • GENG — OMG : 4-2 stack
  • GENG — BLG : 4-2 stack

I will have only MID or ADC at CPT. Also, when I say 4-2, I mean the following. This is an example:

  • CPT — IG MID
  • TOP — IG TOP (or can use IG TOP)
  • JNG — BLG JNG
  • MID — BLG MID
  • ADC — IG ADC
  • SUP — BLG SUP
  • TEAM — BLG TEAM
