College Football Week 12 Betting Odds, Picks, and Trends

We are in the thick of the college football season, and in addition to covering DFS as well as PrizePicks, I will be releasing a weekly betting article. The purpose of this writeup is to highlight some of my favorite college football games to bet on, give you my reasoning for picking said game and direct you to the site with the softest line.

Virginia Tech Hokies vs. Liberty Flames

(Liberty -10, O/U 46.5, DraftKings Sportsbook)

The Flames lost their all-purpose star Dae Dae Hunter to a season-ending injury, but they still have plenty of weapons at their disposal to cover as home favorites against the lowly Hokies. With Hunter out, Shedro Louis takes over as RB1 and has amassed 370 yards/7 TDs. The Hokies famously gave up a record-breaking performance to Pittsburgh RB Israel Abanikanda when he rushed for 320/6. Their defense hasn’t improved much since and the 8-2 Flames should be able to exploit that aspect of the Hokies.

Bo Nix Rushing Touchdowns Prop

Transferring from Auburn and the SEC to Oregon and the Pac-12 has been a game changer for Bo Nix, and he has been able to completely revitalize his career. Nix has been able to assert himself as a dual threat, rushing for a career high 512 yards/14 TDs through just 10 games. He has also had the best passing season of his career throwing for over 2,700 yards/24 TDs.

He has rushed for 6 touchdowns in his past three games alone, and I don’t mind paying a slightly juiced number at -135 for this prop. Whenever the Ducks have gotten into the goal-line area, it’s been the Bo Nix show and that won’t stop this week against Utah. The Ducks are looking to take out some frustrations after a close loss to the Huskies last week as well. Utah has given up 12 rushing TDs this season which includes 7 in their last 6 games. I never thought I’d say this but I’m all in on Bo Nix this week.
