College Football Props of the Week: Week 9

Close

An injury to Zeon Chriss early in the first quarter last week ruined his rushing props while Brady Cook went down in the first half for Missouri, which hurt the Luther Burden receiving prop as well because Drew Pynes is “not it.” I’m feeling a monster bounceback for us in our college football props for Week 9 and have a pair of props that are extremely advantageous. Let’s get right into it.

Jeremiah Smith (Ohio State) 80+ Receiving Yards

(+100, DraftKings Sportsbook)

The Buckeyes have had an extra week to think about their close loss to Oregon and will be looking to take out some frustrations on a Nebraska team that is starting to fall apart. I’m not as worried about blowouts when Ohio State is involved because they have a tendency to pile on points deep into the third quarter even when they’re far ahead. Jeremiah Smith and Emeka Egbuka are the primary targets in the passing game for QB Will Howard, so they’ll be getting a sizable workload throughout the day.

Smith has gone past 80 receiving yards in five of the six games he has played and has been targeted at least 5 times in all but one. I’m riding a narrative on this one but Buckeyes in blowouts come through far more often than not.

Cam Ward (Miami FL) 300+ Passing Yards

(-174, FanDuel Sportsbook)

Heisman candidate Cam Ward is having a great season and his 300-plus-yard passing prop has been an automatic window trip for us. There is no reason to stop running this one as it’s not priced out just yet.

He has thrown for over 300 yards in every single game this season and is up to 2,538 for the season. Florida State is a hapless program that is counting down the days for this disaster of a season to end so I’m not expecting much of a resistance from them. I am also going to roll his over 2.5 passing touchdowns prop, which has been just about automatic as well. He has thrown for 3-plus touchdowns in all but one matchup.
