College Football Best Bets of the Week: Week 11

We are entering the last quarter of the season, and the college football playoff race is heating up. Week 11 offers us some opportunities to get to the window and there are two bets that give us the best overall chance of cashing. Let’s get into it.

Colorado vs. Texas Tech

(Colorado -3.5, O/U 62.5, DraftKings Sportsbook)

This is a classic hangover spot for Texas Tech after they exerted everything they had in order to pull an upset on the road against Iowa State. They have a monster back in Tahj Brooks and a solid passing game, but their defense is completely unimpressive.

This lack of consistency on the defensive end is going to be costly against a Colorado offense that can light you up in a hurry. Heisman candidate Travis Hunter has caught 60 passes for 757 yards and 8 TDs on the season while being an absolute menace on defense.

Additionally, Shedeur Sanders has masterful control of this offense having thrown for 2,591 and 21 TD to just 6 INTs while completing 73.3% of his passes. That completion rate puts him near the top of the FBS. Despite not having much of a running game, Sanders has a stable of deadly pass-catchers outside of Travis Hunter. LaJohntay Wester (39-501-7), Jimmy Horn (33-434-1) and Will Sheppard (27-390-3) are too much for the Red Raiders to handle.

The Pick

Colorado -3.5 (-108)

Maryland vs. Oregon

(Oregon -25, O/U 57.5, DraftKings Sportsbook)

The Ducks have emerged as one of the top teams in college football and have an incredibly soft matchup against the Maryland Terrapins in which their offense should be able to put on a show. The Terps are surrendering over 275 YPG through the air to their opponents and now they have to deal with Heisman candidate Dillon Gabriel.

Gabriel has thrown for 2,665 yards and 19 TDs while also scoring 6 times on the ground. Their receiving room has a multitude of options in Tez Johnson (64-649-8), Traeshon Holden (28-462-3), Evan Stewart (31-462-4) and Terrance Ferguson (22-355-0). It would be a shock for them to score less than 40-45 points on their own.

As good as the Ducks have been they do have some weak points on the defense and Maryland has the ability to put points on the board as well. Tai Felton (73-907-6) is having an incredible season and is just about as unstoppable as they come. His sidekick Kaden Prather (45-487-3) would be a WR1 on many other teams and they have several productive tight ends that can cause problems in the middle of the field as well.

This is a game that will feature plenty of offense from both teams and this one feels about 3-4 points too low.

The Pick

Over 57.5 Total Points (-110)
