The 2022 college football season officially kicks off Aug. 27. While teams have been busy with spring practices and offseason programs, bookmakers have also been working to price off the odds for each team’s win total for the upcoming season. At PointsBet, Alabama, Georgia, Clemson and Ohio State all share the highest projected win total of 10.5 wins.

Let’s dive into the CFB win total odds for the 2022 college football season.

Why do Alabama, Georgia, Clemson and Ohio State have the highest win totals?

CJ Stroud 2022 college football win total over/unders

The Georgia Bulldogs won the National Championship last season on the strength of their defense. Georgia had a majority of their defensive starters declare for the 2022 NFL Draft, but there is still more than enough talent on that side of the ball to warrant a win total of 10.5 games. However, I would take the under as I anticipate Georgia winning 10 games flat.

Alabama and Ohio State are undoubtedly the two best overall programs in college football at the moment. Quarterbacks Bryce Young and CJ Stroud should take gigantic leaps forward after fantastic 2021 seasons for Alabama and Ohio State, respectively. I would take the over on both teams’ win totals this season.

After a 10-win season for Clemson last year, the Tigers are looking to make their way back to the college football playoff. In a stronger ACC, I do not anticipate Clemson going over 10 wins unless starting QB DJ Uiagalelei steps up his play to Heisman levels.

CFB Win Total Value Bets

Michigan Under 9.5 Wins

The Wolverines made it to the College Football Playoff last season and were immediately outclassed by eventual champion Georgia. Michigan had great stretches of play last season, but I do not think they will be able to repeat that this season. The road to the CFP playoffs in the Big Ten goes through Ohio State, and Michigan will not surpass them two years in a row.

USC Over 8.5 Wins

Lincoln Riley will make his debut for the Trojans after leaving Oklahoma after last season. He brought QB Caleb Williams with him and I expect Williams to have a huge season in his first year at USC. Riley is already one of the best coaches in the Pac-12 and I can see USC having immediate success.

Setting up a sportsbook account is an easy process. In order to sign up, sportsbooks need some basic information, and then you’ll be ready to place your first bet shortly.
