The SEC is loaded this year as most teams used the transfer portal to their advantage and shored up their talent as well as their depth. Teams like Kentucky, Tennessee and Auburn built elite freshman classes while LSU, Arkansas (as usual) and Florida made key additions via the portal.

SEC slates are going to be high scoring and mega exciting all year long. For DFS players this is the conference that will command your attention, so keep that at the top of your mind as we go team-by-team through the SEC to preview the coming season.

In this one, Georgia.

Georgia Bulldogs Outlook for 2021-2022

Things are going to be rough in Georgia this year. They lost every relevant player on their roster in 2020, whiffed their recruiting class and weren’t able to take advantage of the biggest transfer portal in history. The only player who averaged double figures last year among their recruits is Jailyn Ingram. He was a focal point of the FAU offense and had a shot rate over 28%. He wasn’t the most efficient player in the world, but I do see him being a viable fantasy asset on this roster because of the volume I expect for him.

Aaron Cook is a steady point guard who was on Gonzaga last year, so he won’t wilt under pressure and should be able to give the Bulldogs big minutes. Former top-50 recruit Jabari Abdur-Rahim will likely be turned loose, which really would be best and Coach Tom Crean can let the kid go through his growing pains on the court. Losing the veteran PJ Horne to a knee injury is a setback in terms of leadership so Abdur-Rahim will have to grow up quickly.

Summary

The cupboard is bare, and this will certainly be a team we target against all season long. Jailyn Ingram, Aaron Cook and Jabari Abdur-Rahim are your best bets at anyone being relevant for fantasy purposes. Christian Wright is an interesting recruit that will have to learn on the job behind Cook.
