Multiple times each week, FTN Bets’ resident college basketball junkie, Brad Evans, will attempt to posterize the ‘books with his favorite selections, whether sides, totals, teasers or parlays. As always, fade or follow Brad’s picks — fading is encouraged — that’s up to you.

2-leg alternative line parlay play: Iowa -7.5, Utah St. -4.5 (Tipico Sportsbook)

Odds: +133

Leg 1: Indiana at Iowa (-7.5)

A well-oiled machine cranking out 90-point performances across a conveyor belt. That, my college basketball betting junkies, is what Iowa is. Mt. Fran eruptions, a calling card for the often-hotheaded coach, haven’t occurred. When your team scorches the nets to the tune of 1.252 points per possession, which leads the nation, there’s no reason to be incensed. The Hawkeyes’ free-flowing offense, crisp pass distribution and cylinder splashing execution is artful. Tops in assists-to-field-goals made in the Big Ten, they’ve burned the twine at an absurd 41.9% mark from beyond the arc. Luka Garza’s tireless efforts and peak efficiency deserve endless praise, but complements Joe Weiskamp, Jordan Bohanan and CJ Fredrick (51.0% 3PT%) are accolades-worthy. When the final buzzer sounds, all Indiana fans will resemble the Bernie Sanders meme making the social media rounds — arms crossed and slumped down, though with a more ticked-off look. The Hoosiers are dead last in the league in three-point percentage D surrendering 40.4%. They should hang on the glass, but ineffective at the line (67.5% in B1G) and inconsistent from distance (31.4%), it’s highly unlikely they keep this one close. Iowa, 11-3 against the spread, tacks on another cover.

Leg 2: Colorado St. at Utah St. (-4.5)

One of the bizarre twists in this COVID-impacted season is league scheduling variance. Some conferences adhere to traditional formats, while others, the Mountain West included, are wedging teams into back-to-backs. Results have varied, with losing teams logging measurable success the second time around, but it’s doubtful Colorado St. will follow the trend. The Aggies spanked CSU Tuesday by commanding the glass (44-25 rebounding edge), raining triples (10-19) and cashing in early and often at the free-throw line (21-28). Craig Smith’s defense was equally brilliant, surrendering just 0.90 points per possession. The Rams are jack happy along the perimeter. Over 48% of their shots this season have come behind the arc. Unless they’re unconscious on those attempts, it’s unlikely they’ll exact revenge. Neemias Queta and Justin Bean are too active and impactful inside, an area of vulnerability for the Rams. Simply put, the Aggies, undefeated in conference play, are too balanced. Another double-digit victory is quite plausible.

Season record: 9-14
