Welcome to the third day of the college basketball season. There are several teams getting underway Wednesday. while others are playing their second game of the year. One of those situations is what I’m focusing on here.

Canisius at Syracuse
7 p.m. ET
Syracuse -13.5
The Orange are 1-0 after an 83-72 victory over New Hampshire Monday night. We saw Syracuse play man-to-man defense and play with a pace that they rarely used under their previous head coach. Because of both of these changes, their defense was a bit leaky, allowing 72 points in the victory. The Wildcats didn’t even shoot that well from the court, but still were able to find some success. In comes Canisius for their season debut after a 10-20 campaign. The Golden Griffins return three starters to a lineup that wasn’t horrific on offense. Last year they were able to put up some points and played with a modest pace as well. I still think the Orange’s defense needs some work so let’s take advantage of that with the Canisius team total.
