In my last two college basketball betting articles I’ve gone 1-1, with the loss being by one basket, so I feel like we are getting close to figuring things out after a slow start to the season. It’s not a bad slate of games this Wednesday, so let’s try to find some winners.

All odds are per DraftKings Sportsbook.

Richmond at Wichita State

7:30 p.m. ET
Wichita State -3

The Shockers are 6-1 this season, and although none of the wins stand out, their defense is standing tall so far. Wichita is holding opponents to 44.4% from two and 26.6% from three. At home they shut down Lipscomb and Western Kentucky and are coming off an 80-67 win over Norfolk State last Saturday. The Spiders are 4-2 on the year and are doing it with a potent offense and a home friendly early schedule. Their best win is over UNLV, and they are also doing it on the defensive end. Richmond continues to struggle rebounding the ball though and I think the home team can take advantage of that. Last year WSU went into the Robins Center and won 56-53 in November. I think they defend home court here.

The Pick

Wichita State -145

Northridge at Pacific

10 p.m. ET
Pacific -3

The Tigers may be 4-3, but it’s been an interesting season so far. They have a win at Cal back on Nov. 10, but at home they have wins by 1 over Lamar, by 2 over Le Moyne and by 3 over MVSU in overtime. None of those three teams are any good. The Tigers turn the ball over too much and don’t shoot the ball well at all. The Matadors are 4-2 and have road wins at Idaho and Chicago State. This team also lost by nine at Stanford and by 10 at home to Le Moyne so it’s not like they are great either. Still, they are pretty good at rebounding and shooting inside the three-point line. Neither of these teams are great, but I agree with the line move and will take a shot with the road team.

The Pick

Northridge +3
