It’s truly the most wonderful time of the year, with college basketball on the TV all hours of the day. There are a lot of great games taking place in a lot of different locales. Because it is the holiday, home court advantages lessen just a little bit because the students aren’t there to lend to the atmosphere. Trying to find the right road teams is always tough though.

McNeese State at Louisiana Tech

McNeese State has been an early surprise, starting the year 5-1 with three wins over lower-level opponents. The Cowboys have a road win over VCU on their resume to go along with a win over Texas State Tuesday night. The team plays with a very slow pace but is shooting 46.2% from three and is top 10 in turnover percentage on offense. Their one weakness has been free throw shooting, checking in at 53.7% as a team in their D1 games. Louisiana Tech is also solid starting the year 3-1 with wins over Louisiana Monroe and Southern Utah. This is an MTE, and tipoff is at 4:30 p.m. ET. I feel like there is usually some value on road teams during the holidays, because school is out and the atmospheres aren’t the best. Give me the road team here.
