The 2022-23 college basketball season is winding down as we head into Match, and we get exciting matchups in conference play. Below is my favorite bet for Saturday’s slate.

Texas vs. Baylor

(Line: Baylor -4, DraftKings Sportsbook)

The Big 12 is an absolute gauntlet, and we get yet another massive top-10 matchup Saturday as the Texas Longhorns head over to Waco to face off with Baylor Bears for the second time this season. A staple in a lot of my favorite side plays, we have two teams trending in opposite directions, with Baylor losers of two straight and Texas coming off two straight wins, which offers a nice buy-low opportunity here for the home team.

Both teams play their own versions of the “no middle” defense, cutting off the ball to one side of the floor and forcing isolations at a high rate. This bodes well for Baylor, who will have the advantage in the backcourt behind three-headed monster consisting of Keyonte George, Adam Flagler and LJ Cryer, who make up one of the best isolation offenses in the country. Although Texas’s wing length did give the Baylor backcourt some issues in the first matchup, ShotQuality graded the game out as a 10-point Baylor win as Baylor missed a ton of shots they typically hit. Rodney Terry has done a fantastic job with the Longhorns after the Chris Beard debacle but things are ramping up as conference play winds down and Texas has an incredibly tough last few games of the year where I wouldn’t be surprised to see them stumble a bit. In a game where there will be a ton of isolations forced, I will be on the home team that has the advantage in the backcourt and has been playing much better defense since the return of their veteran leader Jonathan Tchamwa Tchatchoua.

The Pick

Baylor -4
