New York Yankees outfield prospect Jasson Dominguez (oblique) will miss up to eight weeks with what manager Aaron Boone is now calling a significant oblique strain. It's a tough break for the Yankees, Dominguez and fantasy managers that have been stashing the team's top prospect all year in single-season formats with hopes that he'd take over as New York's primary center fielder by the second half of the season. The 21-year-old recently finished his rehab assignment while recovering from Tommy John surgery last year, but then he suffered a serious oblique injury while playing for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. With another significant injury setback, there's now a chance we won't see Dominguez at all in 2024 until perhaps the tail end of the year.
New York Yankees outfield prospect Jasson Dominguez (elbow) will continue his rehab assignment at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre after playing the last 10 games at Double-A Somerset. During his 10-game run at Double-A, the 21-year-old hit .316 (12-for-38) with four home runs, eight RBI, eight runs scored, and a stolen base. He also had a successful four-game stretch at Single-A where he went 5-for-13 (.385). Unfortunately for fantasy managers that have been stashing the switch-hitter, Dominguez will likely stay at Triple-A once he is eligible to come off the injured list, as the Yankees outfield is crowded right now and they do not currently need him with New York owning the best winning percentage in baseball. Regardless, he should continue to be stashed in all formats, as he'll be a multi-category producer whenever he does get the call.
New York Yankees outfield prospect Jasson Dominguez (elbow) has been performing very well in his rehab assignment. On Friday, the 21-year-old launched his third home run in five games and tallied three total hits to extend his hitting streak to six games. The top prospect in New York ended the 2023 season in the major leagues and performed quite well with a .258/.303/.677 slash line with four home runs and one stolen base. However, he underwent Tommy John surgery last fall, which has kept him sidelined through May. Dominguez is a must-stash player in all formats, as he will provide five-category production when given the opportunity to play in the major leagues.
