The Milwaukee Brewers have activated left-handed pitcher Jose Quintana (shoulder) off the 15-day injured list prior to his start on Sunday against the Philadelphia Phillies. Quintana has been sidelined since May 14 due to a left shoulder impingement. Before his injury, Quintana was enjoying a solid start to the campaign, posting a 2.65 ERA with a 1.14 WHIP across 34 innings of work. The left-hander struck out just 24 batters but allowed just 11 free passes. Under the hood, he generated a high 4.32 xERA and a .271 xBA, which place him in the 33rd and 24th percentiles among qualified pitchers. With Quintana returning to the rotation, fantasy managers should expect either Chad Patrick or Quinn Priester to transition to a full-time reliever. Quintana is best to fade in DFS facing a potent Philadelphia lineup.

Milwaukee Brewers left-hander Jose Quintana (shoulder) is back from his one-game minor-league rehab assignment and said he has normal soreness but otherwise feels fine, according to MLB.com's Adam McCalvy. Quintana is preparing to come off the injured list to start on Sunday on the road against the Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park. The 36-year-old southpaw is ready to return to the big-league starting rotation after tossing 71 pitches over four innings in his rehab start with High-A Wisconsin on Tuesday. Quintana has had a good start to his 2025 season in Milwaukee, going 4-1 with a 2.65 ERA (4.54 FIP) and 1.23 WHIP with 24 strikeouts and 11 walks in 34 innings over six starts, but his 4.54 FIP points to regression coming. We wouldn't recommend using him as a fantasy streamer this weekend against a Phillies offense that ranks fifth in MLB with a .744 OPS.

Milwaukee Brewers left-hander Jose Quintana (shoulder) had a second opinion recently that confirmed the original diagnosis of a left-shoulder impingement that landed him on the 15-day injured list (retroactive to May 11) on May 14. Quintana is scheduled for bullpen sessions on Tuesday and Friday of this week, according to MLB.com. If those sessions go well, the 36-year-old southpaw could come off the IL as soon as he's eligible next Monday without going on a minor-league rehab assignment. He has posted a strong 4-1 record and 2.65 ERA in his first six starts over 34 innings in 2025 with the Brew Crew, but his 4.57 FIP and weak 6.4 K/9 mark make him vulnerable to regression the rest of the way when he returns from his shoulder injury. Given all the other injuries to Milwaukee's starters, Quintana should have a rotation spot waiting for him next week.
