San Diego Padres shortstop Ha-Seong Kim stuffed the stat sheet in Friday's 10-3 victory over the Diamondbacks, going 2-for-3 with a home run, two RBI, three runs scored, and a walk. Kim's season has been a bit of a mixed bag with June a good example of how it has gone. In June, the 28-year-old has three multi-hit games out of seven games, but is also hitless in three games this month. For the season, he's tallied a .223-8-29-34-13 line with a .320 wOBA and 113 wRC+. The wOBA and wRC+ are more or less in line with last season's numbers in which he ended with a .260-17-60-84-38 line, so managers are hoping he can pick up the pace in the batting average department, but otherwise he's on track for similar stats.
San Diego Padres shortstop Ha-Seong Kim (wrist) is back at shortstop and is hitting ninth for the Friars on Monday at Petco Park for the series opener against the visiting Colorado Rockies and right-hander Dakota Hudson. Kim had to be removed from Sunday's win over the division-rival Los Angeles Dodgers after he was hit by a pitch on his left wrist. Thankfully, the 28-year-old middle infielder's X-rays came back negative and now he's back in the starting lineup a day later. After a career year in 2023 in which he hit ..260/.351/.398 with 17 home runs, 60 RBI and 38 stolen bases in 152 games, he's disappointed so far with a .208/.316/.362 slash line with five home runs, 21 RBI and eight stolen bases in 43 games. Kim is an everyday player and remains fantasy relevant, mostly for his speed on the base paths, but hitting at the bottom of SD's batting order is bad for his upside.
San Diego Padres infielder Ha-Seong Kim has shown some unexpected pop in his bat early in the season. On Thursday, Kim went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in the loss to the Colorado Rockies. The 28-year-old now has four homers on the season, which is nice to see. It's also worth noting that Kim has stolen seven bases as well. He's struggling a bit in other areas, but has done enough to keep himself fantasy relevant.
