St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Alec Burleson knocked in five runs Saturday against the San Francisco Giants, helping the Cards to a 9-4 victory. Burleson had three hits, two of which were home runs, and also added a walk and a stolen base. He is hitting .281 with 12 home runs, 30 RBI, three stolen bases and 30 runs scored on the season. Burleson hit his first homer off starter Jordan Hicks, a three-run shot, and the second homer off Sean Hjelle, a two-run blast. Burleson has recently moved to second in the lineup and the move has paid dividends for the Cardinals. Continue to start the hot-hitting Burleson in most formats.
St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Alec Burleson made his only hit count in a 7-4 loss to the Houston Astros on Monday. Burleson went 1-for-5 with a solo homer in the loss. The shot came off Justin Verlander in the first inning and traveled 363 feet with an exit velocity of 100.6 MPH. Burleson has shown some power this season, with seven homers across 170 at-bats for the Cards. Overall, he's batting .271 with 16 runs, 21 RBI, and two steals. Thanks to his solid contributions across the board, Burleson is worth starting in fantasy in favorable matchups moving forward.
St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Alec Burleson made the most of his at-bats during Tuesday's game against the New York Mets. The left-handed slugger went 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBI in the loss. This marked the 10th straight game that Burleson has faced the right-handed pitcher. That being said, it appears the Cardinals are sticking with Burleson as strictly a platoon bat. He has been decent slashing .262/.303/.696 with three homers and 12 RBI this season. However, fantasy managers can probably find a better option given the Cards crowded outfield and Burleson only batting against right-handed pitching.
