According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons skipped the second week of OTAs. Parsons was in attendance for the first week, resulting in the 26-year-old receiving praise from head coach Brian Schottenheimer. His presence also led many to suspect that both sides were nearing a new deal. However, it appears that things may not be as cordial as initially believed. Parsons, who is entering the final year of his rookie agreement, has totaled 256 tackles (172 solo) and a whopping 52.5 sacks in 63 games. He's also earned a trip to the Pro Bowl in each of his four seasons in the National Football League. The Cowboys' front office has a history of dragging their feet when it comes to contract negotiations. But the team will need him on the field come training camp, considering Dallas had issues on the defensive side of the ball throughout the 2025 campaign.

Parsons is entering the final year of his rookie deal after collecting 256 tackles (172 solo), 52.5 sacks, nine forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, 41 run stuffs, and nine pass deflections in 63 career games. Needless to say, the four-time Pro Bowler is due for a nice payday, as he ranks outside the top 50 edge rushers in average salary ($4.27 million). His presence at the voluntary portion of the offseason is promising for the two sides potentially reaching a deal, and head coach Brian Schottenheimer said, "It means a lot to me" for Parsons to show up.
