Cleveland Browns running back Jerome Ford has been quiet in the two games that he's shared the backfield with Nick Chubb this season, rushing for just 15 yards on seven carries. The return of Chubb from injury has relegated Ford to mostly passing-game work after he opened the season as the team's lead back. Ford will hope to produce better numbers in a home matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 12's Thursday night game. Ford isn't getting consistent enough work for fantasy gamers to trust in starting lineups, especially in a tough matchup against a Pittsburgh defense that is allowing the 11th-fewest fantasy points per game to running backs this season.

Ford returned to the field after missing the previous two games with a hamstring injury but was hardly used as Nick Chubb dominated the backfield work with 15 carries. Ford was an early-season value in fantasy but his lack of usage in the passing game in Week 9's lopsided loss is concerning as he operates as the team's third-down back when Chubb is active. He does not need to remain rostered in redraft leagues heading into a Week 10 bye.

On Wednesday, Cleveland Browns running back Jerome Ford (hamstring) practiced in a limited capacity. It's the second straight limited practice for the 25-year-old, dating back to last week after he was tagged with a DNP in five consecutive sessions. Ford hasn't appeared in a game since the team's 20-16 loss to the Eagles, when he participated on just four snaps before sustaining a hamstring injury. However, it appears he's turned a corner in his recovery. The former fifth-round pick will have two more chances to up his practice level before Cleveland hosts the Los Angeles Chargers in their third-straight home matchup. Even if he suits up, the third-year running back is nothing more than a handcuff with Nick Chubb back in the fold. If Ford is out again, running backs D'Onta Foreman and Pierre Strong Jr. will continue to work as a change-of-pace option behind Chubb.
