MLB and NHL PrizePicks for May 10

There are plenty of different props to choose from on PrizePicks, and there’s a lot of money to be made. You can pick your choice of MLB, NHL, CBB, NBA, PGA, MMA, Tennis, Soccer and more. As you’ll see below, I’ll be focusing on MLB and NHL.

Speaking of “PrizePicks,” it is a creative new way to parlay picks based on expected fantasy point production. To dive into the ins and outs of everything PrizePicks, FTN’s Tyler Loechner wrote a comprehensive App Review.

How to play PrizePicks MLB

The format is simple. You pick two, three or four players and predict whether they will go over or under their projected fantasy point total.

When parlaying the players, the larger your parlay, the better the payout:

  • Two-pick entry pays 2.5x (max entry: $400)
  • Three-pick entry pays 5x (max entry: $200)
  • Four-pick entry pays 10x (max entry: $100)

As a bonus offer, there is a “flex play” option if you choose to run a four-man parlay. This will provide some security, as you can earn 1.5x your buy-in if three of your four picks hit.

Below are my top PrizePicks for Monday’s slate in the MLB and NHL. I will be mixing and matching my pick combinations from the pool below, with my favorite combination(s) also included.

Scoring breakdown for PrizePicks contests can be found here.

MLB & NHL PrizePicks for today

Here's a look at my favorite picks on PrizePicks Friday.

PrizePicks for Monday, May 10

Connor McDavid OVER 5.6 fantasy points

McDavid has been paying the bills for a lot of us over the past month as he enters tonight’s contest with 29 points over his past 10 games. He’s cleared 5.6 fantasy points in 10 of his past 11 games as he’s picked up at least three points in eight of his last 10 contests. He had six points in back-to-back games against Montreal in late April. He has at least two points in 10 of his last 11 games and 100 points in 53 games this season. He’d have to be at six for me not to take the over and even then, a goal and an assist with two shots would get us to six fantasy points.

Mike Trout OVER 1.5 Hits + Walks

I don’t know how you don’t take the over on Mike Trout’s 1.5 hits + walks every time PrizePicks offers it. Trout leads the league in average (.376), on-base percentage (.488), slugging (.713), wOBA (.497) and wRC+ (227). Trout has been walked at least once in more than half of his games this season, and he’ll see pitches from Luis H. Garcia, who has walked at least two batters in three of his four starts (3.28 BB/9).

Alex Bregman & Yordan Alvarez OVER 1.5 Hits + Walks

Both Bregman and Alvarez are in play, as the Angels are expected to start Jose Suarez tonight. In 83.1 big league innings, Suarez has coughed up 110 hits, 74 runs, 24 homers and 38 walks. He checks in with a 7.99 ERA and 4.10 BB/9. He won’t last long and then the Astros will see pitches from the Angels’ bullpen (5.12 ERA – fourth highest).

MLB

  • Mike Trout (1.5 Hits + Walks) – OVER

  • Yordan Alvarez (1.5 Hits + Walks) – OVER

  • Patrice Bergeron (3 fantasy points) – OVER
  • Sean Couturier (3.6 fantasy points) – OVER
