College basketball betting can be very cruel to say the least. Over the last few days, I’ve had four losses by one basket or less. As with anything, you just trust your handicapping and hope that it’ll turn around eventually. Let’s take a look at Monday’s card and start a new win streak.
Columbia at Yale
7 p.m. ET
Yale -13
Rare Ivy League action on a Monday, as Yale hosts Columbia. The Bulldogs are playing their first home game since Dec. 8, so you know they’ll be excited to be there. This is an offense that doesn’t shoot the ball particularly well or get to the free throw line a lot either. Their defense has struggled at times and has allowed 70 or more in three of their last four.
The Lions are 9-5 and coming off a 91-79 loss at Cornell on the road. They’ve already won at Temple and Fairleigh Dickinson this season with single-digit losses to Fordham and New Hampshire. They are top 20 in both FT% and 3pt% and won’t be intimidated by a crowd that may or may not have the students back. I think this is just too many points and will take the underdog.
