The college basketball betting article is starting to find some momentum as we try to make some shopping money for the upcoming holidays. The Wednesday slate is fantastic with some very interesting matchups, so let’s take a look and see if we can find some value somewhere.

All odds are per DraftKings Sportsbook.

Omaha at Texas Tech

8 p.m. ET
Texas Tech -21

I know we aren’t supposed to admit weaknesses as handicappers, but one of mine is being able to find unders in college basketball. I’m naturally a positive person, so I’m looking for overs and opportunities for plenty of points. When I saw this line though, I instantly thought under. Texas Tech has Grant McCasland as their head coach, and he never ran with North Texas. The Red Raiders are pretty good defensively and you just have to look at their other home games against lesser opponents. They beat Texas A&M Commerce 73-46, San Jose State 56-42 and Texas A&M Corpus Christi 73-64. Omaha has been rather bad offensively losing 82-60 at TCU, 76-64 at North Texas and 58-56 at Air Force. They’ve played four non-division one opponents which has helped them a little bit. This one seems like an under to me.

The Pick

Under 144

UCSB at New Mexico

9 p.m. ET
New Mexico -14

As I’m typing this, the line is moving in New Mexico’s favor, so this could be a mistake. I’m a big fan of the Gauchos, who have won four straight games including a victory at Fresno State. The team features a very efficient offense and a defense that isn’t too bad either. Ajay Mitchell missed the first two games of the season that were losses and now the team is playing so much better. The Lobos are 7-1 on the season and have been tremendous offensively. They’ve scored 80 or more in all but two of their games, but they’ve also faced a lot of bad defenses. The Pit is a very tough place to play, but this is a veteran UCSB team that I don’t think will be intimidated. Give me the underdog here.

The Pick

UCSB +14
