Be sure to check out Mean Streets for daily picks and Dangle Bet Celly for full NHL breakdowns each Tuesday and Thursday.

Season Record: 45-39, +6.09 (Bonus not included in record)

I still like my bonus bets even though I don’t include them in the official record. The reason I list three official picks is because I don’t want to confuse anyone with too many picks. I also feel strong about my bonus picks but they are longer shots. If you’re looking for more be sure to check out our Pick Tracker

The Best NHL Prop Bets

Nico Hischier Over 2.5 SOG

(-112, BetRivers)

As discussed on Mean Streets, Jack Hughes won’t play and is considered week-to-week. The Devils are going to lean on Hischier even more with Hughes sidelined, so his usage rate should see an uptick. He’ll certainly see the opposing team’s best now, but more ice time could mean more shot attempts. Hischier has at least three shots on goal in five of his past seven games. Hischier is averaging 3.5 shots per game at home compared to 2.7 on the road.

Kyle Palmieri Point

(-104, FanDuel Sportsbookl)

Only the Anaheim Ducks have allowed more goals at 5v5/60 since Jan. 1 than the Vancouver Canucks. We’ve been picking on the Canucks all season long, due to their lack of talent on the blue line and their struggles in goal. The Islanders have one of the highest team implied totals of the night and they don’t have that strong of an offense. However, they’ve won four straight games and they have six goals in two games with Bo Horvat in the lineu. I think Horvat gets three shots and I have him scoring against his former team, but I like Palmieri in this spot as well. Palmieri has picked up at least one point in five of his six games since returning to the lineup. He also has at least two shots on goal in each of those six matchups.

Bonus

  • Bo Horvat O 2.5 SOG (-125, DraftKings Sportsbook)
  • Bo Horvat Goal (+148, FanDuel Sportsbook)
  • Bo Horvat & Mathew Barzal Point SGP (+115, Bet365)
  • Anders Lee, Brock Nelson, Kyle Palmieri Point SGP (+350, Bet365)

Carter Verhaeghe Assist

(+160, FanDuel Sportsbook)

A bit of a longshot NHL prop here with Verhaeghe, because he’s more of a shooter than a playmaker, but the Panthers are very dominant on home ice, and they’re in a great spot against San Jose. Florida scored seven goals in its last game which came at home against the Tampa Bay Lightning and Verhaeghe scored two goals in that matchup. He has nine goals over his last nine games and has had at least three shots on goal in nine of his past 10 games. I have his shot prop listed below, which is a tad juiced, but I also like his assist prop. He has three over his last three games and he could get top power play time with Aleksander Barkov sidelined. Verhaeghe’s winger Matthew Tkachuk has 15 points over a current seven game point streak, so it’s likely CV hits the score sheet.

I shared a few more NHL props and NHL picks on Thursday’s episode of Mean Streets.
