Betting 101: What does -200 mean in Sports Betting?

Seeing a line listed at -200 implies that the team/side is a decent-sized favorite. If you bet a line at -200, you will profit exactly half of what you risk on your wager. Meaning, if you risked $100 on a line listed at -200, then you’ll profit exactly $50 on a winning bet. -200 means that side is favored to win at 1/2 fractional odds and has an implied win probability of 67%.

If the odds are listed at +200, you’ll double whatever you decided to risk on your wager. If you bet $100 on a +200 line, you’ll profit $200 if your bet hits.

What Does Even Money Mean?

Even money is when you’re betting something that has listed odds of +100. When you place a bet on something at even money/odds, it means you will profit the exact amount that you risked, if of course your bet wins. For example, if you risk $100 on a bet that is lined at +100, you will profit exactly $100 if your wager cashes
