Each day, we will try and highlight or outline our favorite prop bets of the day over at FTN Network.
Matthew Boyd, Detroit Tigers
Over 0.5 home runs allowed (-164, DraftKings Sportsbook)
I know, this feels too good to be true. Is it? Great American Ball Park has played to be a hitter’s haven, ranking third in home run factor this season. Over the last month, they lead major league baseball with 47 home runs and a .220 ISO. And Matthew Boyd is prone to the dinger — while he’s vastly improved, he has struggled away from Tiger Stadium, logging a 5.00 ERA and 1.33 HR/9 this year.
Germán Márquez, Colorado Rockies
O5.5 hits allowed (-115, DraftKings Sportsbook)
Something weird is going on with Germán Márquez. The righty has been brilliant at home, so this isn’t some kind of bizarre anti-Coors Field thing. The issue is that he’s just been bad recently. Like really bad. In the last month, Marquez has posted a 6.75 ERA in 25 1/3 innings, and he’s allowed six or more hits in six of his last eight starts.
Tyler Mahle, Cincinnati Reds
O4.5 strikeouts (-135, FanDuel Sportsbook)
This feels like a mispriced line, if we are being totally honest. Tyler Mahle has struck out a pile of hitters this year, and the Tigers have no problem swinging and missing. Over the last month, they’ve recorded a 23.8% strikeout rate (sixth worst). Jump on this before it rises too much.
