MLB Prop Bet of the Day

Cristian Javier 6.5 strikeouts versus Seattle (-113, DraftKings

Roy Oswalt. Roger Clemens. Mike Scott. Nolan Ryan. Over the years, Houston has featured its fair share of rocket-fueled, K-compiling arms. On the current roster, Zack Greinke may be writing headlines with his mystifying 51 mph eephus, but his slow-moving junk pales in comparison to his teammate’s electric stuff. Javier, largely perceived as a loose cannon by most baseball analysts, has shed the moniker in the early season. Corralling his command, he’s tallied a 20:3 K:BB split through 13.2 IP, chipping in a dynamite 29.3 called plus swinging strike percentage. Tuesday, Javier’s mitt-popping fastball and hard-breaking slider should miss numerous Mariner bats, a common occurrence for the AL West reps. This season, Seattle ranks No. 6 in K rate (26.7%). With 16 punchouts in his last two turns, the righty should blast off, exceeding six Ks.
