DraftKings Sportsbook Review

The DraftKings Sportsbook was one of the first and is currently the largest American-based online sportsbook. Many of you may know the name from their beginnings in the daily fantasy space. DraftKings still offers those daily fantasy games in most states, but they have been slowly adding states to the list of places where you can legally place wagers on sporting events as well. They are currently operating in NJ, PA, WV, IN, IA, CO and MI, with a few other states expected to come online in the next 24 months.

DraftKings Sportsbook Deposit Bonus

DraftKings currently offers a $1,000 Deposit Bonus and/or a $1000 Risk-Free First bet depending on what state you are signing up in. Some states have only one of the two and in others they offer both incentives. That is a sizable amount of free money incentives and you should attempt to max out the deposit bonus and risk free first bet to take full advantage of the potential for free money.

The DK Sportsbook also offers a variety of daily odds boosts on multiple sports. You can find these on the desktop or in the app under ODDS BOOSTS. Many of these are standard bets you can wager on, but they boost the payouts. They also tend to place a low ceiling on these bets of $100 or less, but they are a good way to juice up your profits. They also offer a type of rewards program through their missions. This is similar to what they do on the daily fantasy sites where you have to complete some stated goals and you earn free bets or site credits for doing so.

Bets Offered at DraftKings

DraftKings has been doing mobile gaming longer than most others entering this space. They have applied the lessons they learned with mobile gaming in the DFS space to the sportsbook side of the business. The app and desktop are both clean, easy to navigate, and simple to use for even those without advanced computer skills. They really are technologically better than all the brick and mortar casinos that are just wading into mobile gaming for the first time.

DraftKings also offers a large variety of betting options. They cover more sports, more leagues, and have a more robust menu of wagering options than most other providers. Whether you want to bet halves, quarters, or a bunch of different prop bets on various sports from various leagues around the world, DraftKings is probably your best bet to find wagers you can not make on any other regulated sportsbook. They also tend to be a tad lower than other books for rake on these prop bets. It is not uncommon to find the DK price on a wager at a better price than you see the same wager elsewhere.

How Do I Deposit at DraftKings Sportsbook?

No book is perfect, and you do have a few things with DraftKings that they can improve upon. The cashout time is one. Daily Fantasy cashouts seem to happen much faster than cashouts from the sportsbook are processed. This may be a little bit nitpicky as they are still one of the faster books in terms of payouts, but for a company that is best in class for some many other user friendly areas, this is a bit surprising. They also have a very stingy GeoLocation software. This software is used to pinpoint a user to make sure they are in a legal jurisdiction when placing a bet. If you run any software like Zoom, it sometimes gets flagged and locks you out of your account. You can always close Zoom and contact support to get your account unlocked, but it is something they need to work on improving.

The final thing I want to mention is that you should never be betting teasers on DraftKings. They have a funky way of pricing teasers that makes the payouts equal to what parlaying those alternate numbers would pay. This is more for the NFL season, but often the same teaser on DraftKings paid out way better on other sites, so make sure you shop your teasers around because I have never found DraftKings to be the place with the best price on those.

DraftKings Sportsbook Review

The positives far outweigh any of these little nitpicky negatives on the DraftKings Sportsbook. This is easily one of the top two sportsbooks currently available in the United States. They are one of the biggest on volume, have one of the best mobile platforms, user experiences, and a friendly and knowledgeable customer service staff. If you only sign up for one sportsbook, DraftKings would be one of the two I would recommend you deciding between.
