NASCAR XFINITY Series picks for the Alsco 300

Share

Welcome NASCAR fans!

Not sure about you guys, but I crushed the last XFINITY race. We’re on to another race at the same exact track and the targets are fairly similar. Best wishes to Justin Allgaier, as he wrecked late and was taken to the hospital.

Similar to last night, we have an XFINITY race tonight at 8 p.m. EST, which consists of a shorter race than the norm. It will be a fairly quick race so dominators are not as important this time around.

I’ll usually focus on the NASCAR Cup Series races, but given it is our opening week, we will have a special edition for you all today.  My plan is to focus on the drivers with the highest exposure in my ten lineups. Similar to the Cup Series races, we will focus on a similar strategy for this XFINITY race. If you haven’t done so, please take a look into the “how to build” NASCAR lineups article. We also have our projections and optimizer.

Let’s dive right into it!

  • Chase Briscoe – Back to the well with Briscoe. Similar to the write up I had yesterday, but he is one of the best XFINITY drivers out there today. Besides being a humble human being, he’s a stud driver. He has won three of the last five XFINITY races and is starting 12th today. He should have some PD (place differential) points plus finish in the top 5. He will be in at least 50% of my lineups today.
  • Noah Gragson – He crushed for us yesterday until the overtime of the race occurred. I feel like he will lead a good portion of this race again, especially the beginning. He is priced a little higher this slate, but I’ll still rock some Gragson, especially after dominating a lot of the race yesterday.
  • Austin Cindric – Another guy who has shown incredible speed time and time again. His car this season is very good and one of the fastest in the XFINITY series. He flat out dominated this race and now he’s starting further back at 15. He will have PD and he should be able to replicate the race he won yesterday on this track.
  • Brandon Jones – Wrecked on the first lap yesterday so he’s starting 36th. He has wrecked in the past three races so I fear putting him in my lineups, but the guy has a top-10 car and has a top-5 car in speed. If he finishes the race, he will be in the optimal lineups. Rock Brandon Jones with me tomorrow!
  • Daniel Hemric – Speaking of a top-10 car, Hemric is the top value play tomorrow. He’s starting 34th and is priced at $7,400. You better believe he will be in at least eight of my 10 lineups. He’s too good to be at this price and he will get a ton of PD points.
  • Value Plays – Matt Mills, Colby Howard, Bayley Currey, Timmy Hill, Brandon Brown (Brown almost a core play)

For lineup construction, I am probably forcing three of the five guys I wrote about and mixing and matching with the value guys. If I had an order of preference, I lean Brown, Howard, Mills, Currey, Hill.

I might have a handful of other drivers.

Good luck and happy racing!
