As the fantasy football season rolls on, situations change quickly from week to week. Whether injuries, totals, game scripts, etc. the NFL landscape is constantly evolving. To help diagnose those changes weekly for fantasy football, I’ll highlight them using our amazing split tool.
Cole Beasley, WR and Tyler Kroft, TE, Buffalo Bills
Cole Beasley is set for a lot of work this Sunday. Since Desmond King’s departure, the Chargers have no answer for opposing slot wide receivers. Add in that without John Brown in the lineup, his DK point per game bumps up to 18.2, and you have a recipe for massive success. With Casey Hayward out, the Chargers are shifting around their corner responsibilities. Chris Harris could be activated, or it could be Tevaughn Campbell or even possibly Jaylen Watkins covering the inside receiver. All of these options are substandard at best. Harris and Campbell have combined to allow a 73.3% catch rate and three receiving touchdowns (30 targets) in their coverage. Over the last two seasons, Watkins has allowed opposing receivers to secure 92.5% of their targets.
With Dawson Knox possibly missing this game as well, Tyler Kroft enters the punt tight end conversation. Kroft’s ceiling is low, but you’re playing him for touchdown equity and correlation with an Allen or game stack. The Chargers are ranked 26th in DVOA versus the tight end position. Los Angeles is tied for the most touchdowns allowed to tight ends (8).
DeVante Parker, WR, Miami Dolphins
DeVante Parker is set to crush the Jets’ secondary, rolling out backups, water boys and practice squad fodder weekly to cover receivers. Parker’s ceiling is raised considerably this week if he gets the bearded messiah back under center. Parker’s numbers jump across the board this season with Fitzpatrick tossing him passes. Parker is a solid play without Fitzpatrick, but with him, he jumps up a few tiers.
Jamison Crowder, WR, New York Jets
Jamison Crowder has gone from featured weapon to a forgotten man when Joe Flacco was directing targets. Crowder should be rejoicing for Sam Darnold’s return, as the jump in his numbers with him throwing passes is huge. This week marks the first time that Crowder has been below $6,000 on DraftKings since Week 5. Crowder won’t have to contend with Byron Jones or Xavien Howard on the outside this week. Look for Darnold to pepper him with targets all game long.
