Finally, you can turn your sports knowledge into real cash by investing in an athlete’s entire career. Prices rise and fall with every hit, huddle, and headline — and you can buy and sell instantly or hold for as long as you want. Three times a week, FTN will feature a player and his Mojo value — is it time to buy, sell, hold or short? Click here to get in on the Mojo action.

“The point is, ladies and gentlemen, that greed, for lack of a better word, is good. Greed is right.” -Gordon Gecko, Wall Street, 1987

The most important factor when analyzing late-season buys at Mojo?  Greed.

NFL teams want to make the playoffs. NFL players want to make the playoffs. The extra games translate to more money for all involved, which makes it critical to identify which teams need to win their late-season matchups.

Week 17 brings us 11 teams that are facing critical games that can determine seeding and/or home-field advantage in the playoffs. These are the players that can bring us a substantial profit, even with only two weeks left in the regular season.

I have identified a player on one of these teams who has performed at an elite level all season, yet still is below his season-high value. He is his team’s absolute WR1 in the game with the highest point total of Week 17.

Looking to turn a quick profit at Mojo, on a player that also carries fantastic long-term value?  There is still time to invest in dynamic Detroit wideout, Amon-Ra St. Brown

Mojo Spotlight: Amon-Ra St. Brown, WR, Detroit Lions

Amon-Ra St. Brown has been one of the most consistent wide receivers in the league during his first two seasons. He ranks fourth in receptions (96), ninth in receiving yards (1,050) and fifth among wide receivers in red zone targets (21).

Detroit is currently 7-8, needing to win their final two games to have a chance at their first playoff berth since 2016. FiveThirtyEight currently has the Lions with a 24% chance of making the playoffs, making this week’s battle with the Bears critical.

In Week 10, Detroit won at Chicago, 31-30. St. Brown was dominant in that win, posting 10 receptions for 119 receiving yards. He continues to carry absurd target tallies each week, garnering nine or more targets in eight of Detroit’s past nine games.

Playing at home, St. Brown should thrive against this porous Chicago defense. This game carries the only total over 50 points in Week 17.

St. Brown’s price at Mojo has risen over the past year from $12.70 to his current value of $16.98.

Yet, when you examine his share price over the past month there is still room to grow. St. Brown’s value is actually down $0.88, since he’s failed to crest 76 receiving yards since Week 13.

There should be no such problem against the Bears, who rank second worst in DVOA to opposing WR1s, allowing 22.5% more production than league average.

Amon-Ra St. Brown is one of my favorite Mojo investments in Week 17. He is an elite wide receiver, with a rising price, that still has room for profit because of a small recent dip. Detroit has tremendous motivation for this game and have competed every week during head coach Dan Campbell’s two seasons. After an embarrassing 37-23 loss at Carolina in Week 16, I expect a huge performance at home, with St. Brown ending his low receiving yardage streak with a 100-yard performance.
