With eight games on tonight’s slate, let’s get into some of the Multiplier plays over on SuperDraft.

Guard

Tyrese Haliburton (1.35x)

Kings guard De’Aaron Fox has missed the last four games and is listed as questionable coming into tonight’s matchup against the Knicks. If he sits again, it’s hard not to have a lot of interest in Haliburton at his current multiplier, especially in tournaments. The second-year guard is no lock to be optimal if Fox does miss this game, but his upside is enough for me to make him a priority in that scenario. Haliburton has been hit or miss over the four games that Fox has sat out, but it’s been the Kings’ performance overall and not Haliburton’s individual output that has held him back in two of the four games. In the last four, he’s averaging 42.2 SuperDraft points per game and 1.21 SuperDraft points per minute. That stretch includes the 50-point blowout loss at the hands of the Celtics, where Haliburton only recorded 27 minutes. Across the other three games in this run, Halliburton is averaging nearly 39 minutes per game. The Kings are 6.5-point road underdogs in Madison Square Garden tonight, but barring an outrageous offensive explosion by the Knicks, Haliburton should get a chance to shine – especially if Fox sits.

Josh Giddey (1.45x)

The Thunder are going to be without Shai Gilgeous-Alexander until at least the All-Star break. That opens the door for two-plus weeks of Oaklahoma City showcasing what the sixth-overall pick can do. The young Aussie has been great in his limited chances to take the floor without Gilgeous-Alexander in his rookie season. It’s a small sample size, but Giddey has averaged 17 points, 10 assists and 9 rebounds in the three games without SGA. He has also carried a 26% usage rate in those games, a 3.5% increase on his season average. Don’t overthink it tonight, Giddey is a priority play at this multiplier.

Forward

Jayson Tatum (1.15x)

Although their season has been underwhelming thus far, the Celtics have started to show signs of life in the Eastern Conference. They are now one game above .500 and just four back of the six seed. Tatum has been a big reason why Boston has won three of their last four games, averaging 36 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists per game. The Celtics host the Miami Heat tonight and the Heat will be without Kyle Lowry and Jimmy Butler. While Miami isn’t defensively inept without those two, they are certainly less imposing. Tatum will still see ample amounts of PJ Tucker and Bam Adebayo, who will do their best to jostle the young star out of his recent rhythm. But I’m less concerned about the defensive matchups than I am with just how many opportunities Tatum has in this offense (32.8% usage on the season). Hs 1.15x multiplier at the forward position isn’t a lot to get excited about, I’m all for hopping on the Tatum train tonight and riding the hot hand.

Pascal Siakam (1.2x)

The Raptors continue to have one of the most consolidated rotations in the NBA, and Siakam has been a huge beneficiary from a statistical standpoint because of it. When the other usual starters are healthy, Siakam has been starting at the center position, which raises both his fantasy point floor and ceiling. The Raptors have played 15 games in the month of January so far, and Siakam is averaging 40.4 minutes per game. He’s putting up 22.4 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 6.5 assists in those games, and with his 1.2x multiplier and a matchup with the defensively anemic Hawks (who give up more points per game than the Magic, Pelicans, and Thunder), give me all the Siakam I can handle tonight on SuperDraft.

Center

Andre Drummond (1.65x)

Welcome to the easiest play of the day across the entire NBA DFS spectrum. Joel Embiid is out for a well-deserved rest and Drummond will step in and start for the 76ers against the Grizzlies tonight. There is no site that has kept Drummond at a price expensive enough or multiplier high enough to deter us from rostering him in all of our lineups tonight (although to toot SuperDraft’s horn here, it’s nice that he’s not a 2x as most backup centers are). Drummond has started 11 games this season for Philadelphia and while not all of them have resulted in slate-breaking fantasy performances, his averages of 8.5 points, 13.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.6 blocks, and 1 steal per game in that sample is enough to make him the clear top center play on the slate. Don’t get cute at the five tonight. Lock in Drummond and be creative elsewhere.
