Kristian Campbell Stuffs Stat Sheet In Win

Boston Red Sox second baseman Kristian Campbell went 2-for-2 with a double in Sunday's 13-3 victory over the Cleveland Guardians. The rookie was electric in the drubbing of the Guardians, adding a single, two RBI, four runs scored, and a steal. He's up to a .305 average now, with a .412 OBP and an .886 OPS through his first 27 major-league games. It's an excellent start to his career, as the 22-year-old's advanced eye at the plate has carried over into his first stint in the bigs. Campbell has reached base in eight of his past ten appearances, collecting four multi-hit performances over that span. Additionally, he's been impacting the ball better recently, notching three hard-hit balls over the weekend.

Kristian Campbell Sitting Against Mariners

Boston Red Sox rookie second baseman Kristian Campbell is getting a breather on Wednesday against the visiting Seattle Mariners at Fenway Park. Romy Gonzalez will draw the start at the keystone and will hit seventh against Mariners right-hander Emerson Hancock. It's a routine day of rest for Campbell, who has looked like a seasoned veteran as Boston's starting second baseman in his first 23 games, as he's gone 24-for-80 (.300) with three home runs, five doubles, eight RBI, one stolen base, 12 runs scored, 15 walks and 23 strikeouts in 96 plate appearances. The 22-year-old should be back in action for Thursday's series finale against Seattle. Gonzalez has only played in eight games so far in 2025 and is still looking for his first home run, but he's currently hitting .346 (9-for-26) with four doubles, three RBI and six runs scored in his limited playing time. He has never faced Hancock in his career.

Kristian Campbell Taking A Seat On Wednesday

Boston Red Sox rookie second baseman Kristian Campbell is taking the day off for Wednesday's contest against the division-rival Tampa Bay Rays at George M. Steinbrenner Field. He will be replaced at second base by David Hamilton, who will hit eighth against struggling Rays right-hander Zack Littell. Campbell will get a breather after starting each of the team's last eight games. One of the team's top prospects coming into the year, the 22-year-old earned an Opening Day roster spot as the starting second baseman and has not disappointed in his first 18 games, hitting .302/.392/.508 with a .900 OPS, three homers, four RBI, six RBI, a steal, 11 runs scored, 10 walks and 18 strikeouts. He should be back in there after an off day on Thursday in Friday's series opener against the Chicago White Sox. Hamilton offers very little offensive upside at the bottom of the batting order and has just one hit in 21 at-bats this year.
