At the core of the model is xSG, a proprietary metric developed by Alex Blickle that blends:

• Course Fit Expected Strokes Gained (how well a golfer profiles for the layout, based on similar course types)
• Baseline Expected Strokes Gained (a long-term measure of player performance)

The stronger the course fit signal, the more xSG leans on it, giving you an adaptive projection that reflects each golfer’s upside for this specific event.

The model also includes granular data on:

• Driving distance
• Driving accuracy
• Approach play
• Around the green
• Putting
