The early part of the offseason is a critical time to start building out your portfolio and grabbing futures that may not be available at the same price later on. Today, I’ll be looking at the Defensive Player of the Year, Coach of the Year, and Comeback Player of the Year markets, breaking down some of my favorite candidates for each category.
Check out my favorite bets for NFL MVP and OPOY.
2025-2026 NFL Awards Best Bets
Defensive Player of The Year
Maxx Crosby, DE, Las Vegas Raiders
(+1600, DraftKings Sportsbook)

Maxx Crosby missed the final four games of the 2024 season due to an ankle injury, playing banged up for most of the year. Even at less than 100%, Crosby was dominant when he was on the field, racking up 45 combined tackles, 7.5 sacks, five passes defensed, 20 QB hits and 17 tackles for loss in only 12 games. Entering his age-28 season, playing in a contract year, Crosby continues to be one of the most underrated defensive players in the NFL, with three Pro Bowls under his belt.
Coach of the Year
Kyle Shanahan, San Francisco 49ers
(+2500, DraftKings Sportsbook)
The 49ers failed to make the playoffs for the first time since 2020, winning only six games in an injury-riddled season. It was the classic case of a “Super Bowl Hangover,” in what was ultimately a lost season. Still, outside of Brandon Aiyuk, who is still recovering from a torn ACL, San Francisco should be at full strength to open the season, entering 2025 as one of the top teams in the NFL. They’ve won double-digit games and made the NFC Conference in three out of the last four seasons, and they are a good bet to do so once again with Kyle Shanahan at the helm.
Comeback Player of the Year
Christian McCaffrey, RB, San Francisco 49ers
(+350, BetMGM)

Christian McCaffrey was one of many 49ers that fell victim to injuries, opening the season on the IR and playing only four games before once again being shut down. Although he didn’t look quite himself when he was on the field, McCaffrey should benefit from another full offseason to recover, only two years removed from winning Offensive Player of the Year.
