Every draft season, one of the first considerations any manager in a traditional roto fantasy baseball league must take is how they’re going to approach the saves category — do they spend one or even two early-round picks on the premium, established closer? Do they kick the can down the road and speculate on the more uncertain bullpens with educated guesses, hoping to find value in the later rounds? Meet somewhere in the middle?
Like many things in life and fantasy, there is no one true answer to the best approach here; each strategy can be successful with the right selections. The amount of saves available is generally pretty similar each year:
