There are 16 games on the NHL slate for Tuesday, Oct. 22, so there’s plenty of action on the ice. Below is a list of my favorite NHL props and a few bonus NHL prop bets.

The Best NHL Prop Bets
Roope Hintz Point
(-130, BetMGM)
This is terrific value for a No. 1 center playing on one of the best teams in the NHL. Hintz has three goals and seven points through six games this season. He enters on a three-game point streak in which he has two goals and five points. Hintz is also on the first power play, which is important because the Sabres rank third in penalty minutes and 27th in penalty kill percentage (72.7%).

Artemi Panarin Over 3.5 SOG

Panarin’s 12 points this season have him tied atop the leaderboard with Sam Reinhart and Cale Makar. He’s definitely in play for two points, as he has a point in all five games this season and at least two in four games. He also has at least four shots on goal in three of his past four games. He’s in line to get a few chances, as the Habs rank first in shot attempts allowed, shots and scoring chances against at 5v5/60. They also have a league-high 3.88 expected goals against rate at 5v5/60, according to Natural Stat Trick. Montreal was one of the most undisciplined teams in the league last season and although the penalty kill has been great this season, they’re allowing way too many power plays. Panarin leads New York with 17 attempts, eight shots, eight scoring chances and five points on the man advantage. He’s the shooter on the power play, which is why we saw Noah Dobson rack up seven shots in Montreal’s last game. He’s the shooter on the Islanders’ power play and they had six opportunities in that matchup. Alexis Lafreniere has been one of our favorite bets at FTN as he has a point in every game. He’s questionable to play, but if he plays consider him for a point. I was going to lead with him, but his status is uncertain.

Ross Colton Over 2.5 SOG

Let’s ride this out with Colton until the Avs get some healthy bodies back in their lineup. Colton has six goals and seven points in six games this season. That kind of production is unsustainable, but he’s playing on the top line with Nathan MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen and he’s on the first power play unit. He has goals in three straight games (four total), and he’s put at least three pucks on the net in five straight games. He has at least four shots in four straight matchups.

Norris has had some tough injuries over the past couple of seasons, but he’s productive when he’s healthy. He scored 17 goals and had 35 points in 56 games as a rookie in 2020-21, and he scored 35 goals and 55 points in 66 games the next year. Unfortunately, he was held to 58 games over his next two seasons. However, he still managed to score 18 goals and 33 points. The Senators’ center has three goals and five points in five games this season. He’s currently skating on the second line and first power play. The Utah Hockey Club has some appealing forwards, but they are among the leaders in goals against at 5v5/60. Ottawa’s power play is operating at 38.1% which is the second-best mark in the NHL. Shoutout to Jake Sanderson who has seven points in five games, with six of them coming on the man advantage. Sanderson and Dylan Guenther were in the breakout piece at FTN Fantasy.
