Week 5 London DFS Showdown: Jets vs. Vikings

Share

Week 5 of the NFL season brings us our first early morning London game of the season. This year’s London series will actually span the next three weeks of action.

If you’ve never played showdowns, it’s a pretty fun and simple way to get into DFS. Obviously, there’s going to be some very large MME tournaments that will net a huge top prize, but there are also other contests that are much more low risk. This breakdown is going to be more geared to the top-heavy high-prize-pool tournaments, regardless if it’s MME, limited-entry, or single entry.

My approach toward showdown slates is going to be heavily centered on rostership. With prize pools being very top heavy in the large GPP tournaments, I like being a bit contrarian whenever possible. Below, I’ll be taking a deep dive at Sunday morning’s game and will try to maneuver through the player pool.

New York Jets vs. Minnesota Vikings

(9:30 a.m. ET Sunday, London)

Both the Jets and Vikings happen to be among the league’s best defenses, but while the Vikings are clearly the best defense in the NFL this season per their No. 1 ranking in DVOA, including No. 1 ranking against the run and pass, the Jets defense have gotten off to a slow start. After finishing 2023 as the No. 3 defense in DVOA, they are currently No. 16 after the first four weeks of the season. Even though the Vikings have the best defense per DVOA, they have definitely allowed a ton of fantasy points to both the WR and TE positions, but keep in mind, they have been blowing teams out so badly that every opponent has had to play from behind for large portions of their games.
