TwoGun’s NFL DFS Picks for Week 4

Share

More injuries. More mega chalk. It’s only Week 4, and we sure do seem to be in the thick of it already.

It’s a bit hilarious that I find myself fading this week’s DFS mega chalk — Diontae Johnson. While I may have him in some of my lineups this week, I’ll almost undoubtedly be lower on him than the field. I had written him up as a core play pretty much every week prior to this one, and he finally hit for us last week.

Will Diontae Johnson do well again with Andy Dalton sans Adam Thielen? Everyone seems to think so. In this year of lowered passing efficiency against a Bengals team fighting for its life, I’m going to say there’s a good chance the possibly injured Diontae Johnson disappoints.

The plays I do like this week are a mix of somewhat chalky and somewhat contrarian to very contrarian. I do seem to be hammering expensive tight ends as a theme this year. It’s just a matter of being on the right one. Sam LaPorta instead of Dallas Goedert is really what sunk my chances for a sixth milly last week, even more so than my unrequited love for Tony Pollard.

Quarterback

Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs

Sometimes the most obvious plays get overlooked. That may be Patrick Mahomes this week. The GOAT quarterback is playing the Chargers? The Chiefs run game consists of … Carson Steele? Yeah, I think the Chiefs are going to throw the ball. There are a lot of other exciting quarterbacks this week, which explains Mahomes’s lack of rostership. I like pairing the GOAT with Travis Kelce or Rashee Rice.
