Turning our attention toward Royal Montreal Golf Club, we have a team event this week in Canada. It’s the Presidents Cup, which puts 12 golfers from the United States up against 12 golfers from across the globe (Internationals).
The event is lacking some firepower with notables like Bryson DeChambeau, Brooks Koepka, Cam Smith and Joaquin Niemann all still in LIV jail. Still there is plenty of talent on both sides this week, so let’s dive in to discuss our DFS strategy for the week.
Core Targets
Russell Henley
Looking at recent editions of the Presidents Cup, there is a clear trend to player usage. The International Team has generally gone top-heavy and played five golfers in all five matches while the Americans spread it out and have just three golfers play all five matches. However, the United States squad is happy to trot out most of their golfers in four matches so that would be my expected match count for Henley this week. With early-week practice sessions alongside Scottie Scheffler and being good buddies with Sam Burns, I like his chances of getting paired with some strong teammates. What stands out most though is that he’s fifth in the field when I look at weighted baseline performance but 19th in salary.
