Training camps provide our first look into NFL players and teams as we prepare for the upcoming fantasy football season. Information will now begin to flood our social media timelines, leaving us to determine the subsequent fantasy impact. It’s a matter of knowing which information matters, and which should be ignored.

So each day in this space, we’ll take a trip through the top news and takeaways around the league’s training camps to offer up what fantasy managers need to know as we head through draft season and into the 2024 NFL regular season.

Today, let’s review the major news from Tuesday into Wednesday.

Bears Extend DJ Moore

The Chicago Bears signed WR DJ Moore to a four year, $110 million extension with $82.6 million guaranteed, per Ian Rapoport. With the extension, the Bears have wide receivers Moore, Rome Odunze and tight end Cole Kmet under contract for the first four years of first overall pick Caleb Williams’ rookie deal.

Calls for Giants to Give Drew Lock a Look as Jones’ Struggles Continue

While nobody expected Daniel Jones to return from a torn ACL without its struggles, there’s no sugar-coating how ineffective he’s been so far. The only consistency Jones has shown is how often he’s underthrowing his receivers.

If Jones continues his poor play, the Giants should see how Drew Lock fairs with the first-team offense, according to Connor Hughes of SNY.

Rashod Bateman Dealing with ‘Soreness’

After leaving practice early Monday due to a possible injury, WR Rashod Bateman failed to return to the field Tuesday. According to noted FTN fan/Ravens head coach John Harbaugh, it’s not considered serious.

Aaron Rodgers Unlikely to Play in Preseason

In a move that shocks absolutely no one, Jets head coach Robert Saleh “his instinct is no” when asked about the potential for Aaron Rodgers to play this preseason. Saleh ruled out Rodgers for the first two preseason games but left the door slightly ajar for the third preseason game.

Broncos QB Battle Already Down to Two?

Three days into training camp and former second overall pick Zach Wilson may already be out of the running to become the Broncos starting QB. Denver had been running a rotation between quarterbacks Wilson, Jarrett Stidham and rookie Bo Nix, with Wilson due to get first-team reps Tuesday. Instead, those reps went again to Stidham. When asked if Wilson will see more reps with the ones, Broncos head coach Sean Payton said, “We’ll see.”
