The Core and More: PGA DFS Notes for the 2024 3M Open

Share

After a two-week stretch across the pond, the PGA Tour heads back to the Midwest to continue with the summer scoring fest.

Taking on TPC Twin Cities this week, golfers have to deal with a water-heavy layout which means big numbers are lurking around every corner but with generous a tee-to-green test we still see boatloads of birdies.

After a big weather week at The Open it’s tempting to dissect the wind. I would expect to see more tee-time stacks from the field, compared to normal. We should remember the tee time formats and Scottish weather patterns create a unique storm at The Open. The wind differences this week on Thursday and Friday this week look much smaller so it’s not something I’m going even factor into my main builds.

Let’s hop right in to discuss some of my favorite DFS options.

Core Targets

Tom Hoge

From an eye test point of view, distance really stands out at TPC Twin Cities, but when I look at lead-in form of past contenders it was actually approach play that really stands out. Over the last six months, Hoge leads the field in strokes gained approach. Adding to his appeal, he grew up in Fargo which means lots of amateur golf in Minnesota. He’s comfortable here. Boasting top 20s in his last two starts here, I like his chances of making that three in a row.
