Clayton Kershaw To Throw A Bullpen On Wednesday

Los Angeles Dodgers left-hander Clayton Kershaw (shoulder) is throwing a bullpen session on Wednesday, according to manager Dave Roberts. This time 10 days ago, Kershaw threw a bullpen and reported discomfort in his surgically repaired left shoulder. But after an MRI exam, "some shots" have cleared things up for Kershaw to return to throwing. "I don't want to say if it's before the (All-Star) break or right after the break, but I'm encouraged where he's at right now," manager Dave Roberts said. The three-time Cy Young winner is expected to rejoin LA's starting rotation this summer, but the team isn't going to rush the 36-year-old future Hall of Famer. If Kershaw's bullpen goes well on Wednesday, he could be cleared to resume a minor-league rehab assignment and make his 2024 debut early in the second half of the season after the All-Star break.

Clayton Kershaw Resumes Throwing

Los Angeles Dodgers left-hander Clayton Kershaw (shoulder) has started throwing again after experiencing shoulder soreness last week. Kershaw said he was relieved an MRI exam didn't reveal any more damage and that some "shots" helped alleviate the discomfort in his left arm. He is hopeful the pause won't push his timeline back too much into the second half of the season. The 36-year-old future Hall of Famer has been out all season following left-shoulder surgery in the offseason. It remains to be seen when he might be available to return to LA's starting rotation, but the Dodgers almost certainly won't rush him back after the All-Star break in mid-July. Because of his recent shutdown, it most likely means we won't see him until August. Fantasy managers stashing Kershaw in an IL spot must be patient and shouldn't expect him to be dominant when he does make his 2024 debut.

Clayton Kershaw Shut Down From Throwing

Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw (shoulder) won't make a start on Tuesday and will be shut down from throwing for a week. The veteran left-hander has reportedly been feeling soreness in his shoulder since throwing a bullpen session last week. The MRI showed no new damage on his shoulder, so it just sounds like soreness. Fantasy managers that were hopeful to get Kershaw back we'll have to wait a little longer.
