Deebo Samuel To Have More Tests Sunday

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel (shoulder), who was ruled out after injuring his left shoulder in the Divisional Round victory over the Green Bay Packers on Saturday night, will have more tests on Sunday to determine his status for next week in the NFC Championship. Samuel missed two games this season with an injury to the same shoulder. The 28-year-old hurt his shoulder on the team's second drive of the game and finished with just two catches for 24 yards. He had previously been evaluated for a head injury on the first drive of the game. If Samuel's shoulder injury is serious enough to keep him out of the NFC title game, tight end George Kittle and receivers Brandon Aiyuk and Jauan Jennings will need to pick up more of the slack through the air for the Niners. Running back Christian McCaffrey should also see some more checkdown passes.

Deebo Samuel Won't Return Against The Packers

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel (shoulder) won't return to Saturday's postseason meeting with the Green Bay Packers. The wideout suffered a variety of ailments throughout the evening. First, he exited briefly for a concussion evaluation. However, a shoulder injury suffered not long after was enough to seal his fate for the rest of the night, and he'll finish with two catches for 24 yards. Of course, Samuel's health will be a significant topic heading into the NFC Championship, assuming the Niners can advance. But until he's back on the field, Christian McCaffrey, George Kittle, and Brandon Aiyuk will remain the top offensive contributors. At the same time, Jauan Jennings, who has three catches for 33 yards, could continue to see an expanded role.

Deebo Samuel Questionable To Return On Saturday

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel (shoulder) is questionable to return to the postseason showdown with the Packers. Samuel had two catches for 24 yards in the first quarter. However, he's since received an evaluation for a concussion, and he's now dealing with a shoulder issue. It's unknown how severe Samuel's current ailment is. But the 49ers will play it safe, considering the team is eyeing a Super Bowl berth. That said, without Samuel on the field, George Kittle, who scored a touchdown in the second quarter, and Brandon Aiyuk should remain Brock Purdy's primary receiving options, with Christian McCaffrey also catching passes out of the backfield.

Deebo Samuel Cleared To Return

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel (head) returned to Saturday's postseason game against the Packers. The wideout caught both targets for 24 yards before exiting for the blue medical tent for a concussion evaluation. However, he's good to go, which is good news for the Niners, a team that was held scoreless by the Packers defense in the first quarter.

Deebo Samuel Questionable To Return Versus The Packers

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel (head) is questionable to return to Saturday's postseason battle with the Packers. Many believed he suffered a foot injury. However, he lost a shoe, although he took a hard hit moments later and ended up in the blue medical tent. Samuel appeared to be getting hot before exiting, catching both targets for 24 yards. San Francisco hasn't had an easy time with the Packers thus far, so the team needs Samuel back on the field. But if he doesn't return, Brandon Aiyuk and George Kittle should see more attention from Brock Purdy.
