Rams Do Not Plan On Putting Cooper Kupp On IR

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp (ankle) is not expected to go on injured reserve after sustaining an ankle injury during the Week 2 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. Kupp injured his ankle when a defender landed on him during a tackle late in the second quarter, forcing him to hobble off the field. He was later seen leaving the stadium in a walking boot. While this is positive news, as earlier rumors suggested Kupp could miss extended time, his status for Sunday's game against the 49ers remains doubtful. With Puka Nacua and Kupp likely to be sidelined, Demarcus Robinson and Tyler Johnson emerge as quarterback Matthew Stafford's top targets for Week 3 against San Francisco.

Cooper Kupp Expected To Miss An Extended Period Of Time

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp (ankle) is expected to miss an extended period of time, according to head coach Sean McVay. The star wide receiver is also a candidate to land on injured reserve, knocking him out for at least four games. With Puka Nacua (knee) already on injured reserve, the Rams have Demarcus Robinson, Tyler Johnson, Tutu Atwell, and sixth-round rookie Jordan Whittington healthy at the wide receiver position. Unfortunately, Los Angeles has several players on injured reserve or likely heading there, making fans feel like it's the 2022 season all over again. Matthew Stafford's fantasy value takes a massive hit with his top two playmakers out of the lineup. Fantasy players likely want to avoid starting any Rams player not named Kyren Williams for the foreseeable future.

Sam Darnold Impresses Again In Victory

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold completed 17-of-26 passes for 268 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception in the team's 23-17 win over the San Francisco 49ers. He added 32 yards on the ground on five carries. When Minnesota beat up on the New York Giants last weekend in their 28-6 win, Darnold's excellent performance could have been written off as a fluke. However, that case is no longer as cut-and-dry with the Viking's surprise defeat of the reigning NFC champions. It's been quite the start to the year for the 27-year-old, who is now on his fourth NFL squad. Through two contests, he's racked up 476 yards and four scores while completing a crisp 72% of his passes. Superstar wide receiver Justin Jefferson -- who caught a 97-yard touchdown Sunday -- was diagnosed with a quad bruise during the matchup but does not believe he'll miss any time. With his stellar start, the third-overall pick of the 2018 NFL Draft has begun to creep into streaming consideration leading up to the team's Week 3 tilt against the Houston Texans.

Cooper Kupp In A Walking Boot

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp (foot) exited Sunday's blowout loss to the Arizona Cardinals. Puka Nacua (knee) is sidelined for the foreseeable future, so Kupp was projected to have a big game. However, he had just four grabs for 37 yards before exiting the contest with a foot injury. Unfortunately, Kupp was observed in a boot after the contest, so his health ahead of the Week 3 meeting with the 49ers will be on the minds of fantasy managers. If the wideout isn't out there for that one, Demarcus Robinson, Tutu Atwell, and Tyler Johnson will do their best to fill the void on the offensive end. Kyren Williams would also presumably see more work than the 12 carries he had in Week 2.

Cooper Kupp Doubtful To Return On Sunday

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp (ankle) exited Sunday's meeting with the Cardinals. He is doubtful to return. With Puka Nacua (knee) sidelined, Kupp was potentially in line for a big showing, especially after his stellar performance versus the Lions. While there's still a chance he could return, it doesn't look good. If the 31-year-old doesn't make it back to the field for the rest of Week 2, he'll finish with four catches for 37 yards, with Demarcus Robinson, Tyler Johnson, and Tutu Atwell anticipated to see more attention from Matthew Stafford. Of course, Kyren Williams could also have his number called more than initially planned.
