Kenneth Walker III Inactive Against Dolphins

Seattle Seahawks running back Kenneth Walker III (oblique) was already listed as doubtful for their Week 3 contest against the Miami Dolphins, but he's officially been deemed inactive. Zach Charbonnet will step in as the starting running back with Kenny McIntosh coming in as the backup. Charbonnet was the only member of the backfield to receive touches in their Week 2 win over the New England Patriots, and he registered 38 yards on 14 carries with five catches for 31 yards. Seattle will likely rely on the passing game once again. Walker's next chance to play will be Week 4 on the road against the Detroit Lions.

Eric Saubert Likely To Draw Start, Not Recommended For Lineups

San Francisco 49ers tight end Eric Saubert is expected to step in for George Kittle when the team is in Los Angeles to face the Rams in Week 3. Saubert, 30, spent time with six other teams before signing with San Francisco this offseason. In Week 2, Saubert saw his snaps increase as Kittle experienced cramping throughout the afternoon. The journeyman caught two of two targets for 26 yards in that one. Saubert has only two career touchdowns and has never eclipsed the five catches for 36 yards he put up as a member of the Denver Broncos in Week 5 of 2023 versus the Indianapolis Colts. If anyone can take statistical advantage of Kittle's absence, it could just as easily be fullback Kyle Juszczyk, who sometimes runs routes out the tight end position and has shown adequate ball skills and awareness for modest production in fantasy. Both Saubert and Jusczcyk could contribute in DFS if angling for a touchdown at rock-bottom prices, but one can surely do better in redraft formats regardless of league size.

Zach Charbonnet Checks In As An RB2 In Week 3

Seattle Seahawks running back Zach Charbonnet is a mid-range RB2 once again this week. With starting running back Kenneth Walker III (oblique) slated to miss his second straight game, Charbonnet is in line for another massive workload. Charbonnet has been pretty ineffective as a runner. He is only averaging 2.3 yards per carry this season. However, Charbonnet has been very involved in the passing game. He has caught seven passes for 60 yards and a touchdown. Most of Charbonnet's value is coming from touchdowns or receptions. He may have another inefficient day on the ground, but he should have a solid floor to do his receptions. The Seahawks should also find themselves near the goal line in this game which would afford Charbonnet easy chances to score. Charbonnet had 19 opportunities in Week 2. Any running back seeing that kind of volume is a lineup lock.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba A WR3/Flex In Week 3

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba should be a solid fantasy asset in Week 3. His huge breakout game in Week 2 inspires confidence that this new Seahawks regime is committed to getting him the ball. While one week should not fully change your opinion on Smith-Njigba, his 16 targets to Tyler Lockett's two is encouraging moving forward. Outside of cornerback Jalen Ramsey, the Dolphins do not have a scary secondary. If the Seahawks even give Smith-Njigba half the volume he had in Week 2 then he will be a solid start.

Noah Fant Should Remain On Waivers In Week 3

Seattle Seahawks tight end Noah Fant should not be on the fantasy radar in Week 3. Fant only has three receptions on the season as the new-look Seahawks offense has focused on the running game and wide receivers. With the tight end position performing so poorly in 2024, many fantasy managers are turning to the waiver wire. Fant should not be considered to replace lost tight end value.
