Steelers Add Jonathan Ward To Practice Squad

The Pittsburgh Steelers signed free-agent running back Jonathan Ward to their practice squad on Tuesday. Ward will return to the team's practice squad after being cut less than a week ago. The 27-year-old will continue to provide running back depth for the Steelers behind Najee Harris (ankle), Jaylen Warren and Cordarrelle Patterson while being well off the fantasy radar. The Central Michigan alum has actually appeared in four games for the Steelers this year in his first season with the team but has seen only five carries for 22 yards and hasn't been targeted in the passing game. Harris picked up a minor ankle injury in the Week 10 win over the Washington Commanders but is expected to play this Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens, so Ward will most likely stick on the practice squad in Week 11.

Seahawks Expect DK Metcalf Back At Practice On Wednesday

Seattle Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald said he expects wide receiver DK Metcalf (knee) to return to practice on Wednesday. Macdonald remains "optimistic" that Metcalf can end a two-game absence and play in Week 11 against the division-rival San Francisco 49ers this Sunday after coming off a bye week. The 26-year-old suffered an MCL sprain back in Week 7 and hasn't played since, but the expectation all along was that he'd be able to return to the field this weekend to face San Fran. Metcalf's return will make both Jaxon Smith-Njigba and veteran Tyler Lockett less attractive as flex options for fantasy managers, but it will make Seattle's offense much stronger as a whole. Before the injury, Metcalf had 35 catches for 568 yards and three touchdowns in seven games played. He has averaged 13.2 half-PPR points per game, which ranks 13th among all wideouts.

Calvin Austin III Receives Six Targets Against Commanders

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Calvin Austin III remained involved in the passing game during the 28-27 win over the Washington Commanders. He received six targets in this contest but only ended up with two receptions for 20 yards. Quarterback Russell Wilson's accuracy left a bit to be desired in this game, and newly-acquired receiver Mike Williams got involved with a touchdown catch as well. Austin continues to be a boom-or-bust type of player that holds a bit more value in deeper leagues. He'll try to break loose against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 11.

Chris Boswell Quiet In Week 10 Win

Pittsburgh Steelers kicker Chris Boswell connected on all four of his extra-point attempts in a 28-27 victory over the Washington Commanders. For the first time this season, Boswell did not register a field goal attempt as the Steelers' offense was able to punch the ball into the end zone on three of its four red zone visits. Pittsburgh is scoring at a much higher rate with Russell Wilson under center, but fantasy managers should not expect Boswell to be this quiet most weeks. He should bounce back in Week 11 in a divisional showdown with the Baltimore Ravens.

Jaylen Warren Nears 100 Total Yards, Fumbles In Week 10 Victory

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Jaylen Warren logged 14 carries for 66 yards and hauled in both of his targets for 29 yards in the team's Week 10 win over the Washington Commanders. After a slow start to the campaign, Warren looked much more like his explosive self on Sunday and ran far more efficiently than Najee Harris. He did, however, cough up the football in the red zone with the game on the line. The Commanders failed to capitalize on the turnover and Pittsburgh ultimately came out on top, but Warren did not receive a touch after fumbling. Warren should nonetheless maintain his role going forward and is worth a look on fantasy waiver wires. He'll face a tough challenge against the division-rival Baltimore Ravens in Week 11.
