Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson (quad) exited during the fourth quarter of Sunday's game against the San Francisco 49ers and is officially questionable to return. He had been quite productive prior to his departure, catching four passes for 133 yards and one touchdown. Jordan Addison (ankle) was inactive this week, so Minnesota's top receivers will be Jalen Nailor and Trent Sherfield until Jefferson can return. In the event that both Jefferson and Addison can't suit up next week, Nailor would be a solid WR3 option for fantasy purposes.

New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones faces an intriguing Week 2 matchup against the Washington Commanders. While Jones struggled in Week 1, scoring just 5.3 fantasy points against the Minnesota Vikings, the Commanders' secondary allowed 289 passing yards in their opener. Jones has a 5-1-1 record in seven career starts and ten total touchdown passes against the Commanders, so this is just the team he needs to face after coming up with a dud in Week 1. Expect Jones to hover around QB2 numbers this week, particularly if the Giants' offensive line holds up, giving him time to exploit mismatches downfield.

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson had a fairly quiet day salvaged by a second-quarter touchdown against the New York Giants in Week 1. A WR15 finish in half-point per reception leagues likely wasn't the result fantasy managers were hoping for, but anticipate more targets in his direction this week against a much tougher San Francisco team. The Vikings only passed the ball 11 times in the second half and only eight times in their last five drives as the team comfortably led the Giants. A reduction in efficiency for the Vikings offense is naturally expected this week as Jordan Addison (ankle) has been ruled out for this matchup. Expect either a closer matchup or roles being reversed and the Vikings being behind big against a talented 49ers team, which would necessitate more passing attempts and likely greater volume numbers for the best wide receiver on the roster without the WR2 playing. Despite the tough matchup, Jefferson is a must-start and WR6 in the latest RotoBaller rankings for Week 2.

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold surprised many fantasy managers by finishing as the 13th overall QB in Week 1 against the New York Giants and was a hair away from finishing in the top 10 in the position. However, Darnold and the Vikings will face much tougher competition in Week 2 as the San Francisco 49ers travel to Minnesota. The 49ers defense held Aaron Rodgers to less than 10 fantasy points and under 200 yards passing on Monday Night Football. Added to the defensive challenge, the Vikings have ruled out wide receiver Jordan Addison (ankle) for Week 2, limiting potential explosive possibilities for Darnold's passing attack. While the seven-year veteran quarterback may perform better than Rodgers due to the better team and health context surrounding him, expect Darnold to regress a bit this week. He is mainly an option in two-QB or superflex leagues for Week 2.

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison (ankle) has been officially ruled out ahead of the Week 2 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers. Addison hasn't been able to practice all week as he continues to deal with soreness in his right ankle. He was able to play through the issue in Week 1, but the team wants to take the safe approach now. His absence means that Jalen Nailor will move into the No. 2 role behind Justin Jefferson. Nailor hasn't done enough to prove himself as a viable option, so he shouldn't be viewed as anything more than a low-end deep league option for Week 2.
