Patrick Mahomes Lackluster In Win

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes completed 19 of his 29 pass attempts (65.5%) for 245 yards and a touchdown in the 17-10 win against the Los Angeles Chargers. Mahomes also threw an interception in this game, making it his fourth straight game with an interception this season and bringing his interception total up to five. Mahomes has also thrown for less than 300 yards in every game this season. Despite his diminished counting stats, Mahomes and the Chiefs remain undefeated through the season's first four weeks. The Chiefs quarterback will look to keep the streak alive against the New Orleans Saints in Week 5. The Saints should be a favorable matchup for Mahomes since their defense has allowed the sixth-most passing yards this season. The Chiefs passing attack has not been exciting to begin the year, and it may be getting worse as Rashee Rice is believed to have suffered a significant knee injury in the first quarter. Travis Kelce seemed to be the primary beneficiary of Rice's exit from the game. Mahomes could funnel the passing game through Kelce moving forward, but the volume of their passing attack should remain consistent. The Chiefs have been content in establishing the run, and you cannot argue with their results so far. It is becoming increasingly difficult to rely on Mahomes as a fantasy quarterback this season.

Gardner Minshew II Leads Raiders To Win Despite Poor Statistical Performance

Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Gardner Minshew II was able to squeak out a win against the Cleveland Browns In Week 4 despite completing just 14 of 24 passes for 130 yards and no touchdowns or interceptions. The game was primarily a defensive battle, with neither team surpassing 300 offensive yards. Minshew averaged less than four completed passes per quarter, but the Raiders' run-heavy approach could explain this. The Browns have a tough defense, so it's unsurprising that they mostly contained the Raiders' offense. He remains unstartable in single quarterback fantasy leagues, and his lack of volume generally holds back the fantasy value of his pass-catchers. The 28-year-old will face another tough test when the Raiders take on the Denver Broncos and their tough defense in Week 5, and we could see a similar game from Minshew then.

Rashee Rice To Have An MRI, Feared To Have A Torn ACL

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice (knee) will have an MRI on Monday after exiting Sunday's matchup with the Chargers. There hasn't been a firm update on the wideout's condition. However, with head coach Andy Reid indicating things don't look promising regarding Rice's condition, fantasy managers are already bracing for the worst, including what the team fears to be a torn ACL. It's unfortunate, considering he had 24 catches for 288 yards and two touchdowns in the first three weeks of the 2024-25 campaign. Yet, with Rice's anticipated absence moving ahead, Skyy Moore, Xavier Worthy, and Travis Kelce are in line to see more attention from Patrick Mahomes.

Rashee Rice Knee Injury "Not Good"

According to Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid, wide receiver Rashee Rice's knee injury "is not good." He revealed this during a halftime interview of Sunday's matchup with the Chargers, although he declined to provide specifics. Of course, fantasy managers are expecting the worst, hoping that Rice won't miss a significant amount of games. He'll likely undergo further testing soon, including an MRI. But with Rice likely out of the mix moving ahead, Skyy Moore, Xavier Worthy, and Travis Kelce should see added attention from Patrick Mahomes.

Rashee Rice Won't Return On Sunday

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice (knee) won't return to Sunday's matchup with the Chargers. The wideout has been a potent fantasy option all season. Unfortunately, he suffered a knee injury early in Week 4, so he'll finish without showing up in the box score. Rice was carted off the field, which is never good. But now fantasy managers will anxiously await an update on his health. If Rice misses time, Skyy Moore and Xavier Worthy may see more looks from Patrick Mahomes. Of course, Travis Kelce, who has struggled, could be the one who benefits the most.
