DeAndre Hopkins Posts 54 Yards In Loss to Colts

Tennessee Titans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins caught four passes for 54 yards on six targets in a 20-17 loss against Indianapolis. The good news for Hopkins is this marked the third straight game that he has either led or tied for the team lead in receptions, yards, and targets. The bad news is this has led to a total of 12 receptions for 158 yards and one touchdown, with weekly finishes of WR16, WR68, and WR41. The Titans passing offense is in absolute disarray, seemingly getting worse on a week-to-week basis. If one pass-catcher on this team is playable in fantasy it's Hopkins, but the ceiling is extremely limited due to low volume and inconsistency. It does not get any easier from here, as Tennessee travels to Buffalo next week to take on the Bills and their stout secondary.

Javon Baker, Tyquan Thornton Scratched For Week 6

New England Patriots wide receiver Javon Baker (coach's decision) and Tyquan Thornton (coach's decision) are inactive for Week 6 against the Houston Texans. Both players are healthy scratches. Baker has repeatedly been inactive, failing to log an offensive snap since Week 2. He's still searching for his first NFL target and will have to wait at least one more week. Thornton, meanwhile, has been the subject of trade rumors lately but lacks significant fantasy appeal; he hasn't registered a reception since catching two passes back in the season opener. Both players can be dropped in all redraft and most dynasty leagues.

DeAndre Hopkins Playable In Week 6 vs. Colts

Tennessee Titans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins faces the Indianapolis Colts in a Week 6 matchup. After an incredibly slow start to the season - likely due to lasting effects from a knee injury - Hopkins has lead the Titans in receiving yards and targets for the last two weeks. That hasn't translated to a ton of fantasy production since this passing offense has been in flux, but it has a massive opportunity ahead of them now facing one of the worst secondaries in the NFL. The Colts have allowed the fourth most yards to WRs this season, and were just gashed by Trevor Lawrence, who threw for a career high 371 yards last week. If the Titans are not able to have success through the air in this one, the outlook of Hopkins will be bleak for the rest of the season, unless he is traded. The former Texans star should be a fine WR3 or flex option in this juicy matchup.

Rashee Rice Expected To Be Out Four Months

After having surgery to fix his right LCL on Tuesday, Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice (knee) is expected to be out for four months, according to multiple sources. It was a best-case scenario for Rice, who will miss the rest of the 2024 season, but the good news is he's expected to make a full recovery. In addition to his knee, Rice also had a hamstring tendon repaired on Tuesday. Barring any setbacks for the 24-year-old during his rehab, he should be ready to go for the start of the 2025 season next fall. With receiver Marquise Brown (shoulder) already out for the year and running back Isiah Pacheco (leg) on Injured Reserve, the Chiefs have lost their best playmakers outside of quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce. Fantasy managers in single-year leagues can obviously drop Rice at this time and look for a replacement.

Rashee Rice Has Surgery, Officially Out For The Season

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice (knee) will miss the rest of the 2024 NFL season after undergoing successful surgery on Tuesday. The second-year wide receiver suffered the injury early in the Week 4 win over the Los Angeles Chargers after taking a hit to the knee from Patrick Mahomes trying to make a tackle following an interception. While the star wide receiver will miss the rest of the season, he is expected to make a full recovery and be ready for the start of next year. Rice suffered no damage to his ACL or meniscus, which many thought could have been torn last week. The Chiefs will likely add a wide receiver before the NFL trade deadline in a few weeks. However, Travis Kelce and JuJu Smith-Schuster will see more targets and fantasy value with Rice done for the year.
