While Buffalo Bills wide receiver Khalil Shakirmanaged just three targets in last Monday's wild-card win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, he parlayed them into an efficient three catches for 31 yards and a touchdown. With Gabe Davis (knee) ruled out for Sunday's Divisional Round versus the Kansas City Chiefs, Shakir should once again fill in as Buffalo's No. 2 wideout behind top target Stefon Diggs. Shakir has gathered in all of his past 16 targets for 220 yards, stepping up for the Bills in a big way on numerous occasions when they've been short-handed since last year's rookie season. In eight games either without Davis or tight end Dawson Knox dating back to Oct. 2022 -- including Davis' Week 18 exit -- Shakir has made the most of his 35 targets with 29 catches for 546 yards and three scores. That checks out to a ridiculous 15.6 yards per target. Costing an inexpensive $3,800 on DraftKings, Shakir sets up as a rather chalky DFS play and preferable salary-relief option.
After experiencing a steady decline in productivity for nearly two months, Buffalo Bills tight end Dalton Kincaid has worked his way back into fantasy TE1 talks for Sunday's Divisional Round versus the Kansas City Chiefs. Kincaid has recorded 233 yards and a touchdown in his latest three games, and the Bills have gotten him more involved downfield. Notching season highs in air yards in each of these three contests, Kincaid put his field-stretching aptitude on full display with a 29-yard catch-and-run up the seam in last Monday's wild-card triumph over the Pittsburgh Steelers. The first-round rookie will have his work cut out to hit paydirt again, since the Chiefs are tied for the third-fewest TDs allowed to enemy TEs (four) this year. With Gabe Davis (knee) still out due to a PCL sprain, Kincaid is in line to act as Buffalo's complementary passing option behind alpha target Stefon Diggs and is a fairly safe DFS play at a $4,600 cost on DraftKings.
Buffalo Bills running back James Cook totaled his highest yardage (84) and catch output (four) since Week 15 in last Monday's 31-17 wild-card victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers, now putting up 18.8 touches for 62.5 scrimmage yards per game over his last four outings. On top of the 3.3 yards per touch paling in comparison to his regular-season 5.6 YPT, none of Cook's last 13 red-zone touches have resulted in a touchdown. The Kansas City Chiefs have been far leakier on the ground than through the air, however, tying for the fifth-most opponent yards per carry (4.4) in the regular season. With that said, K.C. let in the second-fewest rushing TDs (six) to opposing tailbacks this year. Cook torched the Chiefs for 141 yards and a score on just 15 totes when these sides battled in Week 14, ending as fantasy's PPR RB3 that week. Cook's $6,300 DraftKings salary is the sixth-highest figure among RBs for the Divisional Round, shaping up as a midrange RB1.
Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen finished as the wild-card weekend's overall QB1 with 33.5 fantasy points in Monday's win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. For the third time in the last four postseasons, Allen will lock up with fellow superstar signal-caller Patrick Mahomes in Sunday's Divisional Round versus the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs held opposing QBs to the second-fewest yards per attempt (5.4) in the regular season, and Allen felt their wrath back when these teams met in Week 14 for his single-game low in YPA (5.5). Luckily for Allen, his dual-threat prowess should come in handy against a man-heavy K.C. defense that allowed an NFL-high 91 carries to QBs as well as the ninth-most rushing yards (342) to the position this year. In six matchups all told with the Chiefs since 2020, Allen is averaging 269.1 passing yards with an overall 15:3 TD:INT alongside 53.5 rushing yards and two total rushing scores.
Buffalo Bills wide receiver Khalil Shakir capitalized on Gabe Davis' (knee) absence as the team topped the Pittsburgh Steelers 31-17 in Monday's wild-card action, catching all three of his targets for 31 yards and a touchdown. Quarterback Josh Allen turned Shakir's way on his first pass of the evening, but the 23-year-old slot receiver initially took a backseat in an elevated role. That all changed when Shakir made a heads-up play by keeping his balance on a Minkah Fitzpatrick tackle attempt for a thrilling 17-yard catch-and-run score midway through the fourth quarter to give the Bills a commanding 31-17 cushion. While the three looks were a bit disappointing, Shakir provided excellent value for those who played him in DFS at nearly DraftKings' minimum cost and demonstrated why he was quietly one of the league's more efficient wideouts this year. Shakir's Divisional Round outlook will closely hinge upon Davis' availability next Sunday.
