Steelers Releasing Mitch Trubisky

The Pittsburgh Steelers are releasing quarterback Mitch Trubisky after two seasons with the organization, the team announced on Monday. The 29-year-old appeared in five games (two starts) for the Steelers in 2023, completing 67 of his 107 passing attempts for 632 yards, four touchdowns, and five interceptions. Originally drafted by the Chicago Bears with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, he has failed to live up to expectations and will likely be nothing more than a backup moving forward. The Steelers have an interesting offseason ahead as they look to settle on a starting QB.

Josh Allen Not Planning For Surgery On His Shoulder

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen (shoulder) popped up on the injury report in week 7 with a right-shoulder injury but never missed a game the entire season despite staying on the injury report with the shoulder issue until Week 16. At his season-ending press conference, Allen said he's not planning to have any type of surgery on his shoulder. "It just felt like it kept getting better as the season went on," Allen said. "And especially these last probably four weeks, felt like it didn't bother me at all. So yeah, I don't think there's anything." While his shoulder affected him at times, Allen said he's feeling good now and is looking forward to having a normal offseason. The 27-year-old was the QB1 overall for fantasy during the regular season and will be one of the first few signal-callers off the board in 2024 drafts.

Josh Allen Wants Joe Brady Back As Offensive Coordinator

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen wants offensive coordinator Joe Brady to return in 2024. Brady took over the offensive-coordinator role after head coach Sean McDermott fired Ken Dorsey in the middle of the 2023 season. Brady is a candidate for the Atlanta Falcons' head-coaching job, and it's unclear if Buffalo will offer the offensive coordinator job full time. "I would fully embrace it," Allen said when asked about keeping Brady in place. "I love Joe. I love what he brings to this team, to our offense, the juice that he has, the passion that he has for football. How much preparation he's put into a tough situation these last seven to eight weeks." The Bills became more of a running team with Brady calling the plays, which would certainly benefit running back James Cook next season if Brady sticks around.

Khalil Shakir Scores, Bolsters 2024 Sleeper Case

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Khalil Shakir (shoulder) overcame a shoulder injury to close out Sunday's 27-24 Divisional Round defeat to the Kansas City Chiefs, tallying team highs in receptions (seven) and targets (nine) with 44 yards and a touchdown. Shakir made an impressive 13-yard catch for a score in the front corner of the end zone late in the third quarter before heading to the locker room, but he returned after just a handful of missed plays. Proving to be a very capable producer when granted opportunities, the 23-year-old second-year wideout hauled in 49 of his 57 targets for 686 yards (12.0 yards per target) and four touchdowns overall this year. Perhaps more versed in supplying efficiency than erratic field stretcher Gabe Davis (knee), Shakir will sport a compelling late-round fantasy-flier case in 2024 drafts with Davis headed for unrestricted free agency and Stefon Diggs turning 31 years old in November.

Dalton Kincaid Ends Promising Year With Team-High 45 Yards

Buffalo Bills tight end Dalton Kincaid led his team with 45 receiving yards as they were beaten 27-24 by the Kansas City Chiefs in Sunday's Divisional Round, gathering each of his five targets. Kincaid held on for a tough 15-yard grab along the right sideline on Buffalo's opening possession for his longest pickup, and quarterback Josh Allen turned to him frequently late in the game as a chain-moving presence. There were plenty of ebbs and flows to Kincaid's rookie campaign, but it should be deemed a success overall. The 24-year-old first-rounder concluded his season with either five catches or 59 yards in each of his final four showings all told, bouncing back from a shaky string of play and establishing himself as one of Allen's new favorite weapons. Gabe Davis (knee) is an unrestricted free agent this spring, meaning Kincaid could enter 2024 as the Bills' No. 2 target behind Stefon Diggs and a top-12 option in summer drafts.
